alright, well, i started to notice that i was getting some leakage on the drivers side floorboard and also noticed some drips coming from my sunroof control/driver-passengers reading lights of my 2000 cruiser So i went to open the sunroof to check the drain hole, and realized the sunroof switch...
my engine is apart and ready for rebuild. the shop called me with a few options and wanted to run it by you guys for an opinion or two. they gave me a price of $1550 for the rebuild using aftermarket parts. For an OEM rebuild the price jumps to 3k. the machinist said that the aftermarket parts...
i have also found that with cruiserparts, when you order something, they dont tell you that they 1-dont have it in stock, and will order it so they can ship it to you. or 2-must still take it off the donor vehicle, pack it, then ship it. i have waited almost 3 weeks for a part that fits in a...
well, hoopty is the last thing i want my cruiser to be. thought the gunmetal might look interesting on my dark blue/gray 60 with ome and 33s. but beginning to think otherwise. might mess around on photo shop to see if the effort of fitting is worth it.
Has anyone tried or thought about putting those TRD rims from an FJcruiser on their 60/62? post a pic? would it work? might look pretty decent. i have a friend who is about to sell his gunmetal rims off his new trd edition cruiser, i might be able to get them for a song.
thank ya thank ya
yeah, the kit is 1500, plus around 1200 to rebuild, plus the price to pull it out and put it in. it might be cheaper to build myself a garage, buy some tools, grab a couple cases of brew, and take a week off work......
id like to take on this project myself. it would be a nice way to bond with her...but.. space, time, and tools >.<... i think im going to have the motor dissected then go from there.
feel free to hi-jack! :) the kit i was looking at was the one from cruiser solutions. the way the kit works, is you have the machine shop do all the boring and grinding, then order the kit with the new measurements of the pistons and bearings. im just wondering if thats a bit overkill, ordering...
im going to have to have my engine rebuilt in my fj-60. unfortunately i do not have the time nor the tools to take on this project myself, so i am going to have to out-source. if anyone has any tips or things to watch out for to relay to the mechanic, please let me know. i have looked at a...
