Haven't had time to throw the rebuild on there yet... starting the rig was in a mad dash to get some antifreeze in the system before the big chill hits.
Yep.. though started better before flush :). Keep in mind, it hasn't been started for ~ 3 weeks.. and the cold is setting in. Haven't done anything under the hood... Battery is brand new.
9/69 .. still orig carb.
While *attempting* final coolant flush before winter, I had a hell of a time getting the 40 to start. Once I get combustion, the engine would "sieze" before turning over fully. The starter wouldn't turn it any further.. like the engine was fighting it. I'd release...

If I'm not mistaken, maxi fuses top out at 80 amps.. 6 guage will easily push 200 amps. If you're fusing battery leads, check out the "mega" fuses offered by Waytek, et al.
Stop asking what gauge wire to use :).. It's application specific. Determine max load and...
No.. a fusible link is a "tail".. as s79 stated.. very short. I've yet to see a link or a mains fuse in any of the OEM wiring schematics.
Sounds like time to break out the multimeter.
Dan, the fact that you're even *thinking* of running 4 gauge from the alternator makes me nervous (complete overkill). Seems like you're grasping at straws. Though I am glad you're asking here before you put you and your rig at risk :) .
Wire gauge depends on your peak alternator output...
Might sound silly.. but a benchtop grinder w/ wire wheel will work well. I clean a lot of rusty parts with it.. did my brake and clutch pedals, column bezel, ebrake assm, etc. yesterday (yes I'm in hydraulic fluid hell!).
Gloves and some scotch brite pads? Maybe a dash of Ospho? It's just surface rust right?
If you want a "powered", chem free solution.. die grinder + 2-3" med scotch brite rolok or a wire wheel (don't buy the cheapo VA ones! Rated < 5K RPM). Of course, you won't make it very far into the...
Battery is charged via "B" stud on alternator (white/lavender).. goes up through the ammeter in the cluster panel and back to the battery (white). The fuse panel and ignition switch are also fed by the white/lavender before the ammeter (to show the "load").
Walk your multimeter up the chain...
Garmin Legend is what I have.. bought for Geocaching. After adding topo maps to it, it's very useful when roaming forestry roads.
Color makes a huge diff if you're using the maps.
They won't fill it unless it has a recent hydro date on it. If they do, they're subject to DOT [sic] fine. I think CO2 tanks have to be hydro'ed every 5 years. Compressed air (scuba) is 3 years.. 5 for carbon fiber wrapped tanks produced post 2001-06.
You also need to find out if the tank...
You would run your supply line through a branch tee (W172PL) which is threaded into the "front valve".. the line would then continue to an elbow threaded into the "rear valve". The branch tee has one 1/8" NPT and two disconnects.
Swivel connectors are generally safe to use.. we use them on...
Hey Vette.. Do yourself a favor and find a small screwdriver. Pry the "Shift" and "Caps Lock" keys off your keyboard and throw them away. Using caps makes you no more of an authority on a subject.
Seriously though.. you should be able to find pamphlets at any saftey shop that specializes in...
Both the poly and nylon tubing are rated well over 500PSI. I used the nylon junk on my paintball gun (800PSI from supply). The fittings were Microlok.
Any reason why you didn't use one branch tee and 3 male elbows? Could eliminate the composite union on the wheel well and all four brass...
