Radiator EBB (easily broken barb) Fix.

After reading this I thought I would have a shot at it. Brass barb with some high temp expoxy, hope I get 10 years out of it too ;)

Show us your solar panel install on your 80

In Australia most people are running wires down the inside of the snorkel, then exit into the engine bay. But I guess if you don't have a snorkel yet you are still drilling holes though the body :)

FZJ80 Fusible link / alternator diagnosis help required

So I tested the alternator and the B+ terminal had continuity with the body of the alternator. Removed it and fixed now. Also my new fusible link came in today, compare the dirty (and partially burnt out) 27 year old link and the new one. I guess this explains why there was some discrepancy in...

FZJ80 Fusible link / alternator diagnosis help required

Thanks, I will get the multimeter out tomorrow and see what I can find. The rear housing on my alternator was a bit dented in places. You have me thinking that maybe the housing has shorted out on the components inside. Will check that too.

FZJ80 Fusible link / alternator diagnosis help required

So my 1994 model 80 blew a radiator hose. I got a full set of new hoses and drive belts to install, but in the meantime I just replaced the burst top radiator hose. I removed the bottom bash plate/guard in anticipation of replacing the lower hoses. I didn't get to finish the job and in the mean...

    Alternator clean and rebuild

This is a really helpful post, thanks to the OP. I thought I might just add a link to a youtube video which shows you how to test each of the components with a multimeter. First he checks the rotor, then the stator, then the rectifier, and then talks about the regulator functions. The...

If in the future an electric engine existed, what would I need to do to swap it in?

https://www.evwest.com/catalog/index.php?osCsid=23pn0a832kn3ec8hsqe8v3vva5 At the moment it looks like this. Of course the big question is where the juice comes from to charge those batteries. In years to come who knows but for off road now then dead dinosaur is #1

    Will a 2UZ-FE fit into a 70 series (73 MWB) chassis?

I have a 1UZ-FE in a LJ73. Mine is LHD. With Aus RHD you will have clearance problems with your steering box. Mine is super tight with the AC compressor and yours will be the PS pump. As far as I know your will need to find a manual V8 ECU and loom to run with the H151F/H150F and remain legal...

    Exporting my LJ73 to USA

I live in United Arab Emitates. I am moving back to Australia where we need RHD land cruisers. I have a LHD LJ73 with a 1UZ-FE conversion for sale. It is a 1992 chassis so passes your American 25 year requirements. Also Canadians with lessor 15 years. Mid wheel base removable fiberglass top.

Registry Post Pics Of Your Modded 7x Series

Regarding : rear bumper of 1985bj70 I couldn't agree more. Mine is very similar, except it is a rusty piece of SHS cut to shape. I have to fab up the mounting brackets, and add some cutouts for tow hitch, recovery tabs and reversing lights. Another one of those jobs on the 'to do'...
