Thanks for the input. The drive yesterday was great, I drove the 06 LC very nice, and then drove a '02/'03/'04 sequoias. All 4x4's all limited. I felt like I had more room in the Sequoia. Which got me thinking. If I want to wheel why not just tralier the 40 and take it where i want to go...
Need some help. I am looking at buying a 2000 or 2001 LC, i have some nice prospects in mind. I am dead set on a LC but the girlfriend thinks that they are too small for me as I am 6'5" and 255 lbs. The last one that we drove was a 97 Anniversary edition that was great, but she said I looked...
it was new off ebay, from hong kong. it is for my 68 40 that is pictured in the avitar, i figured it probably for the top of the fender, but I didn't want to mount it there. it is the newer type .
Okay, i got kind of screwed, i ordered a front turn signal assembly so time ago, and finally got around to even opening the box only to discover that the base for the signals is flat and not slanted like the originals. is there any way short of buying some more that i can find to remedy this...
Guys, got a new set of signals, but realized that the mount would not work since it is flat and not angled like the fenders. Any ideas on mounting these guys?
Here is the link for the signals that look like the ones I got...
but what about underneath the bed? between the rails? I am not a rock crawler and will probably will never get into much more than an occasional putt putt around the cow trails around my property along with short runs into town.
with a tank other than the aux downy tank or similar tank? I was wondering if I could relocate the tank and install something like a racing style tank under the box and then put some steel sheet around it. I am just having a hard time spending 700+ on that aux tank from those guys. I don't...
the steering shaft goes through a hole that was cut into the crossmember, and the box is bolted to the frame by a 1/4" plate of steel that has been welded to the front frame rail.
Hey guys the PO installed a manual Saginaw box in my 40 and I was curious to know if I was to find a power sagianw box, would it bolt up. The scab plate and and boxing in has been done already. Any ideas?
Paranoid,
I was thinking of doing something like that. Looking to put staniless hex bots around the edges. How would I go about getting the sheet metal?
LCJ, no problem, you have actually given me some ideas,
Dash box would be cool, but it still doesn't help me with all the holes/ partially cut out dash.
LCJ, since you're the aluminium guy, do you think that I could just get a sheet of it, give a fab shop the measurements, where the bolt...
well, I live in pearland and would like to get involved, not a memeber, but as soon as I get the rest of my electrical system and inspection done I will begin attending, so for what its worth, Saturdays early work for me!
I was looking to do a complete rework of my dash, right now, the original dash is completely cut up and mostly cut out (due to PO) I was wondering where I could find 1. an unmolested dashboard that I could weld in, or 2. A plate of sheet metal that I could cut holes in. Does anyone have...
VTFJ40- you can go ahead and explain it to my wife. i tried to explain that even a bunch of engineers said that is the best place for it, otherwise they wouln't have put it there.
If I put it back there, i would cover it with a skid plate anyway.
so, could I get a 79+ tank and put it back there? I really don't want to spend 700 on an aux. tank and make it the main tank,,, wife has coined the passenger side the "seat of fire" and she won't go anywhere with me in it ( which really isn't that bad) until I move the tank out of the cab...
