RESTORATION - WHO AND HOW MUCH??

I live on the East Coast now. Never updated my profile.

RESTORATION - WHO AND HOW MUCH??

I know it’s not on the verge of falling apart, but it annoys me and if it’s not cost prohibitive to make it perfect, I’d consider a nice resto.

I think I got what I was looking for here. I'm not gonna go through the hassle of posting pics. Appreciate all the input.

RESTORATION - WHO AND HOW MUCH??

I never knew about the Joe Rogan 80 - that ICON guy's lame if you ask me. I have 2 buddies with ICON FJ4x and they aren't holding up as well as expected - at least not for the $150k they paid. Plus I watched him berate the suspension on my beloved Geländewagen because it was archaic - I guess...

RESTORATION - WHO AND HOW MUCH??

My 80's undercarriage is a rust bucket and the body has a few spots that are starting to bubble up. I love my truck and have spent quite a bit of time and money customizing it - lift, snorkel, bumper, winch, etc. I have no intentions of selling it, but these imperfections drive me nuts to...

    LX470 towed behind motorhome

Thanks for the input. The truck is in great condition and has legit service records. The fact that it was likely towed is my only concern. Too many negative views on towing has me back to searching for a newer 200. This truck needs to be 100% reliable as it will be at a vacation home - any...

    LX470 towed behind motorhome

I agree, outdoorsman. Mileage is mileage. In a LX470, I'm not worried about the motor or tranny, I'm worried about the cost of replacing the components that wear based on mileage. This truck has 75k miles - but if it was towed regularly, it may have covered 2 (or 3) times that. The...

    LX470 towed behind motorhome

Hmmm. Two completely different opinions assuming they popped the transfer case into N. It is a very low mileage truck asking premium $$$ and likely being towed is the only reason I didn't buy it immediately as I wasn't sure what kind of wear and tear, if any, this would put on the drivetrain...

    LX470 towed behind motorhome

I'm interested in a 470 that was presumably towed behind a motorhome. Dealer pics show there is a front tow system on the truck. Dealer is not sure the previous owner towed it, but that's all we can assume based on the aftermarket equipment. How would this work - just pop it in N and pull it...

    LX450 Flare and Door Trim

Most people seem to think Line-X looks nicer over time. However, it also seems to be the general consensus that if sprayed hot and both use their top of the line product, they are pretty much identical. Sounds like Rhino had to step up their game recently to match the quality of Line-X.

    LX450 Flare and Door Trim

I've read enough threads to know that I'll surely break many of the clips, but assumed they could easily be replaced and reinstalled. Is that not the case? As far as the gaskets, black is great as that is the color of the Line-X. Please shoot me a link to purchase them? Completely agree...

    LX450 Flare and Door Trim

I just started a thread on Rhino Lining my "cladding" on my LX the other day and after further research, I decided Line-X suited me better. However, the closest Line-X sprayer told me it would be easier and better to remove the cladding, Line-X it, and re-install. Something the next closest...

    Specific Rhino Lining????

1997 LX450 white with goldish trim. I was asked a few questions from my Rhino liner guy and figured you quys would know best. I like the cladding, so I'm keeping it on and lining it. For those that have lined the flares, did you take out the weather stripping between the flare and the body...

Confused about tire rub after OME lift install - help

We both agree that it is strange that the correction made the rubbing worse. As far as settling in - I suppose it may have, but I drove the truck Monday and only had the same slight rub as I've had for two weeks - then more rub post-correction. As noted in a previous post, the axle did shift...

Confused about tire rub after OME lift install - help

I completely agree that the axle does not actually move forward, as it only moves on an axis. But, don't the correctors change that axis so the angle gets back stock spec? Stole this from offroad.com (who obviously stole it from Slee)

Confused about tire rub after OME lift install - help

I didn't start this thread to ask a question, so I could dispute the answers, but when I visualize what has happened to the truck this is what is see-I may be completely wrong. The axle pivots on the rear bushing of the control arm. So when the extra 2.5" from the new suspension is installed...

Confused about tire rub after OME lift install - help

Appreciate the input. I'm completely fine with cutting or filing or doing whatever it takes to stop the rubbing, but I'm still confused why it got worse post-caster correction, as I thought it would get better due to the few degrees of positive caster. I am hoping my DIY job wasn't somehow...
