Stumped -- CV Shaft & Steering Knuckle

Alright. Thanks. I did feel it was okay because there’s some gap between the knuckle and shaft. What’s more the groove does go past the oil seal. The seal would have shown some damage if it was something else.

Stumped -- CV Shaft & Steering Knuckle

This afternoon, I took opportunity to replace the driver's side CV Shaft because of the boot is cracking up. Upon taking out the shaft, I noticed the inner area of the steering knuckle has some sort of deep groove. I'm not sure what you call that part as shown in the picture? Should I be...

Ordering my IronMan lift today...talk me out of it

Very subjective question. Coming from AHC... it does feel rough. :-) But aside this, I have 2 other cars... the Toyota Prius and the Subaru Outback. The LX rides "smoother" than these two.

Ordering my IronMan lift today...talk me out of it

Went with 1.5 Tough Dog suspension. Firmer than AHC though... AHC smooths out dips and bumps. But it's what you get for abandoning the system.

LX470 -36mm nut frozen on all 4 accumulators. Replacing accumulators.

Strap wrench worked for me. Clean the globes with acetone or something to remove oil and grime. Slip on the strap wrench and go at it.

Worst Case Scenario for AHC Repair

Yeah I removed and sold the globes. Only thing I didnt salvage is the control accumulator. The bolt were stripped on top. I tried and tried hard. Gave up. Cut the bracket off. Few items in the classified.

Worst Case Scenario for AHC Repair

That’s about it. The removal of ahc system is more. Lines are tucked safetly on top rail making removal a tedious work. Rusted bolts are hard to remove.

Worst Case Scenario for AHC Repair

I did the swap and removal myself, so no labor cost involved. For the cost of shocks and springs. It would vary what you are after. I went with Tough Dogs shocks and springs. I'm impressed with the ride quality. Like what what @geanes said above. Hard to explain but he explained it well...

Worst Case Scenario for AHC Repair

I swapped out the system to conventional shocks last week. I somewhat am regretting the decision, but at that time I thought was necessary. Rusted through shocks and seeping shock. When I was working on removing AHC system. I realized that the system is not that complicated. Also, when I...

Great pics. I'll look around for the piping. Hoping I can find something in black. If not plasti-dip or paint will do. Thank you

how much time do I have?

Thanks for your encouragement. I hope with these suggestions. It can last another 50-60k - some 6 years. This is when my kids should be out of college. :-) Hmm about shocks. Someone did suggest that and I wasn't sure. Maybe I should go try it. If it isn't working out for me I can always...
