I have 2 cv shafts - one with boot ripped and other CV is okay -- 190k miles on these. Replaced with 2 new shafts.
Make me offer thats reasonable. Pick up locally - Frederick, MD.
Alright. Thanks. I did feel it was okay because there’s some gap between the knuckle and shaft. What’s more the groove does go past the oil seal.
The seal would have shown some damage if it was something else.
This afternoon, I took opportunity to replace the driver's side CV Shaft because of the boot is cracking up. Upon taking out the shaft, I noticed the inner area of the steering knuckle has some sort of deep groove. I'm not sure what you call that part as shown in the picture? Should I be...

Like what what @geanes said above. Hard to explain but he explained it well...
I swapped out the system to conventional shocks last week. I somewhat am regretting the decision, but at that time I thought was necessary. Rusted through shocks and seeping shock.
When I was working on removing AHC system. I realized that the system is not that complicated. Also, when I...
Thanks for your encouragement. I hope with these suggestions. It can last another 50-60k - some 6 years. This is when my kids should be out of college. :-)
Hmm about shocks. Someone did suggest that and I wasn't sure. Maybe I should go try it. If it isn't working out for me I can always...
