I replaced the Clutch slave which, I think, may have corrected my odd shifting issues. So I was able to back it out of the garage to give my 69 Fj40 a good washing. Thanks for all the advice from ih8mud!
I cut off the flexible plastic pickup tube and bought submersible rubber hose from napa. Using a hose clamp on the end of the fuel pump. this another to the alum pickup line coming from the plate on top of the fuel tank.
What are the differences between model years of the Clutch Slave Cylinders? I have a 69 Fj40 and have been using The Aisin Slave from, I think, early 80's Fj40.
My problem is that when my engine (Chevy 53)/trans (NV4500) gets warm, pushing in the clutch does not release the clutch fully...
I bought an auxillary second tank that sites behind the rear axle. I orginally bought a high flow external fuel pump that was mounted on the frame. After it vapor locked twice, I had to relook at how to combat this. I kept the fuel pump and bucket bracket. See image...
I thought I had a better picture of my winch off my 69 FJ40, but I think it is the same. The PTO was originally mounted directly off the end of the tcase.
I did all the fitting and tack welding on MT family cage with my Clarke brand welder. I had a welding shop do the final welds on my cage. I think it was about $90. I trusted their welds over mine for safety.
Looking great. Your pedal assembly is huge! Mine came from an 01 Avalanche. I made a mount and had to cut down the arm considerably to get it to fit without scraping the trans cover. I am really liking your drivers side battery mount. I have a primary positive wire coming from the pass side...
You will love the engine! You are making lots of progress with similar clearances of mine. I used the same headers and love them. I only have about 1/4 between the elec fan and front pulley. It is tight, but works great!
Icon does amazingly nice work. Great detailed pictures. I thought my Shark Gauges were nice until I saw this. I am going to have to emulate the suspension.
It came in today. What beautiful work from advanced adapters. Thanks OrangeFJ45. Hope I can pick this one up assembled to get it in my Fj40. It is much heavier.
I went with a 7" dual diaphragm booster and 1 7/8 master from Summit. I did have to modify the firewall a little to get it to bolt up. I have disks all around and it stops on a dime.
