Ha. Not quite.
Glad you could get it sorted. Just got the new sub in and it is glorious. When I bought the rig all five woofers were completely destroyed. Now all are repaired or replaced!
I tried that after repairing the sub but still didn't get anything from it. I ordered an aftermarket replacement and will give that a try as soon as that arrives. Hopefully it's just a dead speaker! Thanks for weighing in.
So I'm pretty sure my ML rear sub is real dead. I re-foamed it, plugged it in and got absolutely nothing. Then tested for impedance and just get 0 or OL when I touch the speaker terminals, though I didn't disconnect them from the speaker wire in the box (box was out of truck though). Can I...
I haven’t tested yet but pretty sure I found the culprits! I repaired the front two speakers and the second pick is them fixed and the rear waiting to be fixed. Still haven’t dug out the sub yet. I found a little more evidence of water in the door than I anticipated but the drains are clean so...
Thanks for chipping in on that. The one screw I see doesn't look like it was painted over and maybe is already a little rusty. I may order new trim/molding just so I can pull everything off and see if there are any issues. I don't think I can reuse the old stuff with how hardened it is. Did you...
I called the windshield shop the Lexus dealer uses and they don't want the job. In their words, they don't have a small enough rivet gun and they don't do anything with rust if they find any. Looks like this may turn into a DIY job!
Well poo. That doesn't look like a rivet. Hopefully, the glass can stay and it just needs new trim, rivets etc... I guess this repair has moved up the priority list.
And if I see screws, you’d suggest it is time to start calling around and see if I can find a glass company that has some experience with 100 series? And then order all new trim and rivets?
Hi all, I'm Dave from the Chattanooga TN area. After having our third kid, we knew it was time to get a bigger car. Somehow I locked in on the Cruiser as a fun/capable and somewhat unique car. I just bought a 2005 LX470 with 193k miles and am falling in love. A huge thanks as I've already...
I see what you are talking about. A cursory inspection looks fine, but I'll climb up there soon with a headlamp on and give it a more thorough look. Thanks for the heads up.
I’ll take a look for that pipe later today. And will run it by the local dealer on Monday since the radiator is decidedly full of some pinkish/reddish/orange ish coolant and it could probably handle a 30 minute drive.
I sense that balance of not overdoing it. I imagine that when you have a bunch of people who dearly love their trucks and like to tinker. You could get into a lot of repairs that may not be strictly necessary. I think having had the truck less than a weak I haven’t settled into that balance!
I...
I
I think your suspicion is correct. I blame sleep deprivation and small children!
So I took a different car and was going to go by the seeker to get the red coolant. Would you suggest I wait until I can take the truck since I’m not confident if it is red or pink? I’m guessing it isn’t...
Appreciate that! Radiator is full but coolant looks a little more brown than red. Probably take another car just to be cautious.
The radiator was replaced a couple years ago so the coolant should not be that old. Should I be thinking about flushing if it is more brown color in the radiator?
I feel like this is one of several newbie (slightly panicked posts) I’m making lately. I’m grateful for you and others being gracious as I get my footing.
So the mechanic potential painted that? It wasn’t there when I took it to them!
If I can see coolant in the radiator, would you drive it...
So...I just bought an 05 LX470. Thinking I was being a genius I brought new heater tees with me when I flew down to pick it up, and had a local mechanic switch them out. An ounce of prevention or so I thought...I drove it back up from Orlando with no problems and have driven it around for the...
