I have made a scan of the opening in the stock front bumper. I had also started with a sheet metal bracket for lights or to mount a quick release fitting for the air compressor. Now I have noticed that the bumper is bent. So that was a waste of time :D
At 200GB you have way too much data for it to be worth it in my opinion. I can tell you 128 gb won't last long... I am at 64gb and get some lag even on smaller scans...
Actually i was already thinking about that!
But "Absolute wits end" do already have a good solution in my opinion and I appreciate that effort.
There are quite a few areas on the 80 that are not supported at all and I want to focus on that rather than to create (more) competition on a already...
I have tried to get the area in front of the window but the scan is pretty much unusable no matter what i do.
The scanner is pretty picky with colours. Too shiny and i get artifacts. Too dark and it wont pick up any geometry. There are some things that that I can do to mitegate the issues. For...
the Dashboard can't happen if the front glass is in place. There is too little room for a clean scan and I can't scan trough the glass.
I do have a lra auxiliary tank fitted to my car and the frame are mentioned is not accessible at the moment.
Sorry about that.
I am still looking for things to scan. Some things like the bumper are might have to wait until I have time to dissasemble and when I dont need the car. Other than that i do have to learn for exams...
I use Autodesk Fusion 360, mostly because it is free, a robust cad programm for what I need at...
The files will be in the resources section soon. Woody set up the resources section, so that the files can be uploaded there. I am still getting a error when uploading but he is working on that.
Has anyone made use of the upper tailgate for modifications? I do only know if n4 in France who put maxtraxs on the outside.
If not then a complete scan of the upper tailgate would be high on my priority list
The scan for the louver is done. The louver itsself is broken, I will scan it when I have the new part.
I figured out why it was so slow in Fusion 360 and changed the export settings so you dont need a supercomputer from nasa to open it :D
Next I will look into the tailgate.
It wont work well on the roof rails. it is a fairly small target to hit and the recessed areas will produce unreliable data. Look at he screenshot where the window frame meets the body. It picked up hardly any detail there despite me trying to get them. If you make a cardboard template and make...
The scan for the louver is 433mb
I think it would make sense to upload it to the ressources section. How do i upload there? I cant seem to finde a button for that...
I do have a spare a343 laying around. So I can scan the converter as well.
I might spend time to get the trans and bellhousing clean and scan it. Maybe someone who does a drivetrain swap might need it
My louver is broken as well, so it is already off.
I can do that tomorrow.
I will leave the window in if you don't mind.
I do still need to figure out how to share the files properly
Now might be my time to make a useful contribution to this forum after all the times it helped me.
I have a few days off from college and I want to spend that time using my new 3D Scanner ( Shining 3D Einstar).
What parts or areas of the 80 Series would you like to have scanned?
Please keep in...
Did you end up finding the Bd1 connector?
I do also have the 31 code and can’t find it even after looking in the EWD. In The drawing looks like it is in front of the firewall but the description says kick panel :D
I know that GME has a high quality one, but there are many others from Australia, as previously mentioned
