Do GX 460's have transmission problems? Should I run away?

I think the core issue is that Toyota/Lexus service states that the GX has "lifetime" transmission fluid and its true that if you never replace your AT fluid, it will last "the life" of the transmission... The secondary issue is that the GX460 transmissions tend to run on the warm side no matter...

Builds Roody’s 2018 Lexus GX460 Build, Adventure, and Off the Road Again Podcast

I've always hated the Dave Ramsey-style "pay cash for everything because only idiots use financing" financial advice however I also realize that a good portion of the population simply can't be trusted to not immediately use consumer credit to get, and remain, up to their eyeballs in debt their...

460-Add Crawl Control (CC) and Multi Terrain Select (MTS) to 2010-2019 models/all trims

No issues if you don't do the ZPC right away. You just won't have CC or Downhill Assist until you do the calibration.

This is probably going to be very unliked, but this is just like my opinion man. This is my issue with the LC250

Gonna start one upping the "not a real Land Cruiser" people by yelling at everyone with an LC250 that it's not a real Prado.

    GX460 / Prado150 pic thread

At the rear. I had trimmed a bunch of plastic off at the base of the sideskirt/rear fender to stop rubbing with my previous 265/70/17s. With the 285s, I haven't had to trim anything else, but it looks like I may need to ziptie the rear of the fender liner back. I had warmed it up with a heat gun...

    GX460 / Prado150 pic thread

^I have +10 AlphaEquipt wheels with 285/70/17 and only had to trim/smush plastic to clear my Mickey Thompsons. It looks like it will clear the body mount when wheels are fully stuffed and turned but will find out for sure on my next off road trip.

    GX460 & GXOR B.S. thread

Finally got around to replacing my recalled Ironman control arms that have been sitting in my garage since the end of November. The driver's side ball joint on the original set started clicking a couple weeks ago and was definitely shot. I feel like people of the internet make swapping UCAs out...

    Starting build 18 GX advice

Budbuilt skids have load bearing hatches on the front and engine skids so you can get to drain plug and filter without pulling whole plates off. They are one of the few companies that does a dedicated GX460 plate set and they work great. I think RCI and many others use the same skids for the GX...

    GX460 & GXOR B.S. thread

I've been digging into this hairbrained scheme further and it looks I can just get the right sized splitter for dual high beams, and then wire the switch/relay for the light pods to the splitter while the pods themselves are wired normally. So when I turn the switch on, then the pods will come...

    GX460 & GXOR B.S. thread

Thinking about starting a thread arguing about water-cooled engines diluting the brand because we are reaching Rennlist levels of pettiness and shenanigans over here arguining about what a "real" land cruiser is

This is probably going to be very unliked, but this is just like my opinion man. This is my issue with the LC250

I'm just going to start screaming "It's not a real Land Cruiser" at any one I see driving any Toyota. I think that's the only way Toyota finally realizes there is a market for the 70 series.

This is probably going to be very unliked, but this is just like my opinion man. This is my issue with the LC250

It's almost as though the Land Cruiser 250 is specific to the US car market and not anywhere else for a reason

I think if you snowboard, but still say "apres-ski" then Lexus will let you buy a GX so you should be good.

Skiers: Land Cruiser Snow Boarders: 4Runner Now it all makes sense.

This is probably going to be very unliked, but this is just like my opinion man. This is my issue with the LC250

Now that I have seen the styling and trim levels of the 4Runner I see what they are doing and it is probably going to work. For my money I will take the new GX because I honestly can't imagine how anyone off roads without massage seats. I think the Land Cruiser has a different style and appeal...

Dobinson Nitro IMS APACHE AX2 or MRR

I have the MRAs on my 460 because I like to tinker and nerd out on suspension stuff and also wanted to flex on everyone with my remote reservoirs lol. It takes quite a bit of trial and error to dial everything in to your preference but they do perform great if you want to spend like $4 grand on...

2024 Lexus GX550 Detailed Technical Review | Is it Better?

Have you ever been in Florida in July and had to sit in the backseat of vehicle that has 2 puny vents coming out of the rear console? It's also a matter of luxury and features; If I spend $80,000 on a Lexus I expect the Lexus to keep my passengers are comfortable as I am.

    LC 250 & GX550 Picture Thread

^I imagine they published the off road angles for the Trailhunter and/or TRD Pro (whichever is better). I agree it seems like LC250 is immediately back in a weird spot before it's even on sale. The only way it makes sense to me is if the 4Runner trim(s) that have the rear locker and sway...

2024 Lexus GX550 Detailed Technical Review | Is it Better?

If the Overtrail trims can't be had with 3 zone/roof vents that will be a huge miss. The roof HVAC vents in my 3 zone 460 have ended up being one of my favorite features because being hot sucks so having more air conditioners with more vents is just more better. It makes things so much nicer for...
