    Aftermarket seats.....

I agree with @1911 . I have mine on the highest setting (would have to cut the brackets to access the lower settings), and at 6'-1", nearly 6'-2", I am pretty high up. The extra leg room is nice, but the steering wheel is close to my thighs and I also have to lean forward to see lights if I'm...

    Aftermarket seats.....

Interesting. My adapters went in fine...after I spent a few nights to remove the "adapter" a PO had installed for some aftermarket seats.

    Aftermarket seats.....

Mine is a 1980 and it was an easy swap. They sell an adapter that bolts right into the existing floor holes and the seats brackets bolt into it. 8 bolts total per seat. I can’t say for an earlier model, but I’d suspect it’s the same story, just a different adapter.

    Aftermarket seats.....

Looking good. I installed these same seats in mine a few weeks ago. They look very similar to stock but are more comfortable and buying these new - even with the required brackets - was a good bit less than getting new foam and recovering my original seats.

LED’s with warmer glow for dash

I ordered some LEDs from superbrightLEDs. They are too much of the bluish white that you're talking about. I'll probably order some new ones that are warmer. There are two different sizes necessary for the cluster and one of those is available in a warm white, while the other is not. Otherwise...

Going from Dash Box back to Dash Pad

Came across this post while looking for some info on dash pads. Your build looks great and I love that color.

1978 40 - Holes in Dash Question - What went there?

I'm reviving this old post instead of starting a new one. Where I am, defrost vents aren't necessary (and I don't have them anyway). Anyone have any good ideas that aren't too far out ther of how to plug or cover those holes? The holes are about 1.25" in diameter so a rubber plug like the...

    Hubcap Cleanup/Restore

Good points. I honestly hadn't looked at the cost of them...I was guessing they'd be about $50 per ea. Maybe I'll buy four new ones for the truck and then polish up one of mine for the spare. Thanks for the info.

    Hubcap Cleanup/Restore

If this has already been covered, please forgive me. But I've looked and haven't found anything. What do y'all think is the best way to cleanup and restore OEM hubcaps? Mine have some surface rust - both inside and out. Think they can handle a light sandblast? Or am I better off just sanding...

    Late Model Seat Options Questions

Thanks for posting the information. Those are the exact seats I am thinking of getting for mine. I have been debating either getting new foam and covers for my original seats - which are in pretty rough shape - or just getting those Pro-90 seats. I think you just made my decision for me. Happy...

    1980 FJ40 Fuse Box

Thanks @Otis That’s what my (limited) trial and error had shown from the few I’d removed and then checked to see if it did in fact disable what I thought it would. But the order they had them listed in the manual confused me. Have a good weekend.

    1980 FJ40 Fuse Box

Does anyone know the exact order of the fuses on a 1980 FJ40? I wanted to order a box cover or at least print it out and leave it in the glove box. I've seen pictures of original covers for other years, but not a 1980. My manual only has the information from the two below pictures. If the...

SOLD Tuffy Console Mounting Bracket 1973-1978

I'm somewhat new so not sure if links are allowed, but if you go to the Tuffy site, it is part #057-01.

SOLD  Tuffy Console Mounting Bracket 1973-1978

In my haste, I ordered the wrong mounting bracket for a Tuffy console. Rather than pay return shipping and a restocking fee, thought I'd offer it here. My loss is your gain...the bracket is $0 (free), you just pay shipping. I can post a picture later when I get home, but it has not been used...

1980 FJ40 Rear Floor Drain Holes

Thanks, that's the seat I was installing. I just wasn't sure exactly where those factory holes were and I didn't want to end up running into interference with that cross bar support. I ended up just working backwards...I located the rear bracket where I knew it wouldn't hit that cross bar and...

1980 FJ40 Rear Floor Drain Holes

Long time reader, first time poster. I have small children and have decided to replace my jump seats with a forward-facing bench seat. The instructions for drilling the two holes to anchor the front brackets require me to measure off the original drain holes. However, many years ago my rear...
