Which is the correct Nebula Green??

@man0fsteel The bumpers are OEM, brand new bumpers that came painted. They're still available for sale, got a new front bumper last year after a minor fender bender that dented the one I had installed.

Which is the correct Nebula Green??

I got the Vintage Air Gen IV SureFit with the Ultra-High-Performance Blower https://www.vintageair.com/custom/product-pop.php?pn=941201 It's great, really powerful, but I do live in Kuwait where temperatures in the summer hit over 50 degrees celsius all the time and my FJ40 is a metal box with...

Which is the correct Nebula Green??

This is an ad for a Japanese coffee shop that used my car to highlight their drive-thru, you should be able to see the color more accurately in it

What would cause a speedo gear to wear out in 1 day??

noooooooooooooooo my speedo stopped working again. This time it survived nearly 400 miles, I thought the issue was fixed! Could be because I used the 1x17 gear instead of 1x16. Luckily have a brand new 1x16 so will swap out and try one more time.

What would cause a speedo gear to wear out in 1 day??

Just wanted to update this post in case anyone searching had a similar issue as me. So this is what happened since my last update. I replaced the speedo gear with one thats 1x17. Also ordered a new 1x16 as a backup. I then replaced the cable with what I think is a replica cable and not OEM. It...

Show us your FJ40 then and now

It's a 1980 model but I prefer the look of the earlier FJ's which is why I have the round front grill and none 80 model logos and turn signals.

Can you identify my Brake Master Cylinder?

Good point, it might just be the lack of a brake proportioning valve that is the issue. So I think I'll order that first and fit it and then see if things get sorted or not.

Can you identify my Brake Master Cylinder?

It has my brake pad and brake disc parts listed but no clue if they're even accurate.

Can you identify my Brake Master Cylinder?

Is there a way to check it before I order? Also you were right, turns out the master cylinder wssn't for the FJ40, when I just started looking at Toyota master cylinders I ended up finding it and turns out I have a 1990-92 FJ80 master cylinder...

Can you identify my Brake Master Cylinder?

I have front disc brakes on my 1980 FJ40 and rear drum brakes. But the braking is horrible, any hard sudden braking results in wheels locking up (i believe the rear) and the car just continues to slide forward. Doesn't necessarily have to be at high speeds either. I know from my Datsun when I...

Fuel Path in a Non-US FJ (I have pressure build up)

I have a 2022 Hilux and when I get to the fuel station and open the fuel cap I get a hiss as well. If the hiss wasn't so long and loud on the FJ40 I wouldn't have thought much of it, would have assumed it was normal.

Fuel Path in a Non-US FJ (I have pressure build up)

I don't think we ever got the charcoal canisters here but based on the fuel diagram that @hobbes shared it looks like my lines go up to a seperator although i couldn't see it from underneath the car.

Fuel Path in a Non-US FJ (I have pressure build up)

Ok, quick update, I shoved my iPhone camera under the car and to my surprise, I do have 3 lines coming out of the fuel tank AND they're connected to hoses. I have no idea where the hoses are going but the fact that they're connected to hoses and not blocked off leads me to believe they're...

Fuel Path in a Non-US FJ (I have pressure build up)

Thanks I'll lift the car up this weekend and check and see. I previously only looked at the front of the tank and seen two hoses, but now looking at the drawings @hobbes shared it looks like the vents you mentioned are towards the side of the tank. I have an old picture I had taken when the car...

Fuel Path in a Non-US FJ (I have pressure build up)

Hey everyone, I've been going through my fully restored FJ fixing or replacing things the shop was lazy to do or didn't and one of the things I just did was replace the old fuel cap with cracked rubber with a brand new one (77310-14070) yesterday. I was seeing what looked like fuel residue below...
