    Needed: Front frame crossmember

FWIW, the holes on the Trailgear bracket landed in the correct locations for remount of the original front bumper without modification. I welded in threads on the lower bumper bracket holes to make installation easier, and the top holes have standard nuts threaded by hand. FYI there IS a year to...

    Needed: Front frame crossmember

My crossmember was also failing, so I simply cut it out and welded in a replacement, based off an HD gusseted front frame brace bracket from Trailgear. The finished product is a C-channel of 1/4" steel, open in the rear.

ScrappyJackalope 2nd gen 4runner Dana 44 sas build.

Sweet build! That'd be a shame if you drop the SR5 Alloys. Skinnier tires might make the difference - the Kenda Klever R/T 33x9.5 R15 is a bit taller and skinnier than the BFG 33x10.5 R15 AT. If all you need is a fraction of an inch this might make the difference: Kenda Klever 33x9.5 R15

FYI - Kenda Klever R/T KR601.....NEW size on the way..... 33x9.50R15LT

Thank you Land Cruiser junkies for helping me find the Walmart deal on these skinnies - $178 per tire for 5 of these shipped to my door in Alaska was a deal I could not pass up! I've had these sitting around all summer while I sourced a deal on some 15x7 SR5 alloys. Finally got them mounted a...

    My misc restoration ramblings/questions thread

4Crawler has a write up on this subject. Looks like the "lift lips" are no longer available, but he details an easy way to produce your own using hardware store materials: http://www.4crawler.com/4x4/ForSale/BodyLiftKit.shtml#GapGuards

    My misc restoration ramblings/questions thread

This has been a long time coming, and KLF has a history of the most spot on comments and reliable knowledge on the subject, so needless to say, Im excited to follow this build, especially after the photo of the refinished bed and motor. Beautiful.

New Doors Installed I pulled the old doors off on friday night. I discovered it was quite challeging to access and remove the inner door hinge bolts without removing the fenders, but i was able to pull the doors and hinges with the fenders in place. I chopped the 4 door hinge pins while they...
