the guy who reprogrammed mine, did so by taking the driver lock code and programming a blank. The Wireless transmit he had a bit more trouble getting working, but managed in the end - it was a generic wireless locking key with fold-out that I have seen many times before, but with the Toyota key...
Still after one as well! The rounded finishing on yours' Bamabrock is pretty spectacular.
I'm on a leeward shore and ally is so much better resisting the salt getting blown in from the sea.
Amazing job by OP, but in 2023, you can achieve majority of same tuning benefits by modifying resistor values on the factory (JDM) electronic fuel pump instead (UKDM 4runner with 1KZ was mech pump).
Easiest way is by interrupting the 2 signal cables from the pump top ECU at the ECU, and wiring...
Bit of a follow up for those that may read this in future. BTW it's an A442F transmission.
Initial rejoicing above was too soon:
- 02 sensors did indeed fix all engine performance, and in that sense truck is good again, when in D.
- Shifting is still overly jerky (less so than before, but...
Damn, the options are way cooler on the model specific kits. Was hoping either the Tac or the newer 4 runners might have similar chassis rails in relation to the rockers as the 100.
That's good to know. I guess for the 100 it's just pick the size of universal then... the amount saved should...
Tony Nicholls is the THE man for Hilux Surfs, but based in Basingstoke. He's def worth contacting though, as has been on the scene for years and might know who can help up our way for LCs as well.
I remember there was a recent thread on FB asking for classic LC enthusiasts for a photoshoot...
Hi All,
https://www.4xinnovations.com/Rock-Sliders_c_12.html
Great assortment here for other Toyota and amazing pricing compared to general 100 market. Proper sliders for less than the ebay bendy step sliders.
Supplier "has no experience with the lc100" (not surprising as it's a bit tubby...
Well.... wow is all I can say. 2 new inner tie rods and and the sensors went on at the weekend.
The 2 new 02 sensors were obviously well overdue! Motor feels stronger than ever (sounds harder too!), and the clunky shifting in forward gears has gone, along with the drop in power when holding...
Still waiting for the 02 sensors and caps to arrive.....
But I've made a weird discovery since clearing the error codes - the performance is 95% back - as long as I use DRIVE and don't try to hold gears with the auto selector!!
Sounds weird I know - but on the same long climbs if I just leave...
No, not at all - I said I would replace the 02 sensors regardless as a 50k service part (no idea how old they are) and they are already ordered. But the bit that mentions jerky shifting coupled with 02 codes specifically references a bad ECM.
I have already opened the ECU - it looks...
Thank you! you were on the right track there!
Managed to get hold of another more expensive code reader (tablet PC type thing), and this was able to read VIN, identify model and region from the VIN, and then give me the codes I need! Not heard of JDM stuff needing different OBD readers before...
last night I did following (first post edited to reflect)
- I changed the Fuel Pump; no change.
- dumped a ton of throttle body cleaner through the intake (after the MAF)
- discovered that both valve covers were only finger-tight (there was a slight oil weep each side), so tightened them up.
-...
Hi All,
Have one of those situations with multiple leads that could be acting as red herrings...
Low mileage 1999 JDM 4.7 (130k kms). Never been less than perfect for me. Fairly recent fresh fully synth oil and NGK Iridium plugs. I live on a small Caribbean island so dealer and...
Are you just looking for a spare? Or has your JDM fob fell apart?
As when my separate JDM fob fell apart (the key appears to be just mechanical), I just took the insides out and fitted it into a 3 button key, and grinded the blank key off, to make a new fob.
I have a bolt on for my KZN130 and love it. As soon as a bolt-in appears for the 100 I will take one - I think many would. For exactly the same reasons as directly above!
