Sadly it is time to let my trusty FJ go, the reason is that my wife will be getting a newer vehicle so I will be “inheriting” her FJ80.
I have owned this truck for more than 12 years and it has been very reliable, it is not pretty but is mechanically sound. Has some rust spots, will need paint...
Sadly, mine. So I've reached the point where I can't (want) spend any more money on my 1983 60 so we must part ways. Cracked intake manifold that will cost about $1250 to fix. So my question is: what's a fair price for a truck like this one? It has 231k on the clock, newer radiator, thermostat...
I am playing with the idea of importing a BJ70 (or BJ60 or HJ) to use as a daily driver/work truck. I know that the lack of speed is an issue for some of you but I can live with that, I drove a FJ60 as my work vehicle for about 3 years, 55 mph everywhere I went. One of my questions is: how loud...
Hello, I have been reading the importing threads trying to gather information in order to import a diesel cruiser from Costa Rica into California. Most of the threads say 25 yr or older no problem, use an importer, etc. Now I have read that one can no longer register these vehicles in...
Hello!

The noise is usually present whenever the truck is first being driven, in the AM or after being parked for a few days. It goes away...
After almost 4 years of being my daily driver/work truck, with zero breakdowns and heaps of petrol consumed, La Toyotona has been promoted to Weekend Warrior. So now it's going to get a nice wash and a fresh coat of wax so it can be ready for the next trip to the grocery store.
Here's the deal, my 60 makes a sputtering noise when driven at cruising speeds (2000-2500 rpm's). The truck does not buckle or anything it just makes that sputtering, Harley-Davidson sound.
What do y'all reckon? (It has a rebuilt carburetor and it had some intake manifold work done about a year...
