    Water Pump Mounting Bolt Mystery

This is great. It was way more difficult than I thought it works be to find a picture of the actual part. Thank you!

That's it! Thanks for this! Just need to find one in use now to satisfy my curiosity of the layout.

    Water Pump Mounting Bolt Mystery

I think this is a winner. I can't imagine what the use would have been. Maybe just what the PO had lying around when he lost a bolt replacing the pump. Thanks!

    Water Pump Mounting Bolt Mystery

I thought that but then found a good picture of my disassembly showing the long M8 bolt with the sleeve being the mount for the alternator bracket. Thanks for the tip on the mounting bolt threads. Anything special here? Should be good with an application of FIPG on the threads before torquing...

    Water Pump Mounting Bolt Mystery

It's a 1969 truck with original alternator attached to a 1974 F155 with double-pulley harmonic balancer and water pump. I thought air pump as well but couldn't find any pictures of that particular stud. Not a big deal, just my curiosity wanting to know what everything on the truck is for as I...

    GMB F and 1.5F 'Made-in-Japan' Water Pump Gone ?

If you decide you don't want that old pump, I'd be happy to take it off your hands. I tried to rebuild the pump that came off my truck but it had a weird seal cup inside that wasn't anything like the listed replacement pump seals out there. I found a suitable replacement pump but would love to...

    Water Pump Mounting Bolt Mystery

Getting things ready to mount water pump back to the block and trying to sort out the bolt order. I believe I have the bolts in the same holes they originally came out of but can't find a clear picture from my disassembly documentation. Anyone know what the long double-sided stud is for in the...

    GMB F and 1.5F 'Made-in-Japan' Water Pump Gone ?

Same height. Same bolt pattern. Same hub.

    GMB F and 1.5F 'Made-in-Japan' Water Pump Gone ?

Lots of knowledge of GMB water pumps here. I scooped up this water pump that has a different stamp in the housing from all the ones posted in the pictures above. It clearly sat in storage awhile judging by the oxidation on the surface flange. Is this just an older logo? No stamps indicating...

    GMB F and 1.5F 'Made-in-Japan' Water Pump Gone ?

This is the amazing and with picture to illustrate! Perfect, thank you.

    GMB F and 1.5F 'Made-in-Japan' Water Pump Gone ?

Considering going this route for my F.5 since finding a reasonably priced quality water pump is challenging. Mine is a 1974 dropped into a 1969 truck. straight-arm alternator mounted to the driver side of block. Is that the same setup you have and if so, which pulley did you go with? Anything...

Lucy the LC: 1969 FJ40 Rebuild: Brake Question

Distributor and fuel filter bowl at the parts spa. I used some Meguiars PlastX on the distributor cap to bring it back to life. Took a couple of treatments but the color came back. TBD if it needs to be replaced but taking the wait and see approach like most other original parts on this truck...

Lucy the LC: 1969 FJ40 Rebuild: Brake Question

Apparently I dropped my alternator at some point and cracked the housing. Confirmed with disassembly pictures that it wasn't cracked when I removed it. 😡 Took apart and cleaned up. Tested good per FSM instructions. Looks like it had been rebuilt at some point. The brushes looked low mileage and...

Lucy the LC: 1969 FJ40 Rebuild: Brake Question

Parking brake cleaned up and refreshed. My cable looked like hell. The cover sleeve was split in multiple places and missing sections and had some rusty places underneath. It moved freely and I didn't want to replace it if I could salvage it. I cut off the old crusty cable cover. Letting some...

Lucy the LC: 1969 FJ40 Rebuild: Brake Question

Front drive shifter installed with my fabbed up switch boot. The heat shrink has some adhesive on the inside so I think I will grab on and seal pretty well once I find a space for the wire end.

    😆 of course.

1974 Toyota FJ40 (getting around to it)

Are the 2f and f.5 head gaskets the same? I had noted that 11115-61010 was for 1975+ 2f and 11115-60033 was for 1974 f.5, the latter being discontinued.

1974 Toyota FJ40 (getting around to it)

If it helps, here's a comparison of the head gasket of unknown manufacture i took off a 1974 F.5 compared to the aftermarket AJUSA replacement i put back on. I couldn't find an OEM replacement since they appeared to be discontinued but I liked the quality of the AJUSA and it actually fit the...

1974 Toyota FJ40 (getting around to it)

What is the "wide-runner" intake manifold? Is that from an FJ40? My 69 doesn't have the "firing order" on it.
