Howdy 👋 Just took delivery on my JDM 96 prado RZ here in Denver. Just a tick over 200k km, reasonably stock, fancy seat covers :)
I was pretty happy with the condition compared to others i've seen come over. Flares aren't quite paint matched but not bad. Pretty much needed nothing and so...
Thanks man - i wish i was doing more than paying for it, although i will say i spent hours and hours in photoshop trying to put together what i was hoping for. The real artist is Kyle at Login • Instagram - he has pretty much built the exterior of that car by hand. I'm a sucker for the MKII...
Yah i was out taking pictures of it today for someone else and did actually notice that the left rocker has a bad case of rust that i never noticed before (honestly never got down there to take pics before). Also took a few pics of the under carriage but it's still pretty dang clean. I got your...
Thanks man, i honestly love it too but living in Denver and shuffling three vehicles on the street is an unfortunate drag and my original intention for the truck (as a mountain truck) is not really needed anymore...
Sure there were a few thoughts i can try to summarize:
- People are nervous about the diamond plating as it might be hiding rust
- the market is seeing more 70s in the USA now that more are qualifying for the 25 year rule (even the more rare HZJ77)
- some folks don't like the aftermarket stuff...
Greetings, decided to finally just post my truck for sale:
1991 HZJ77 ~225k miles
5 speed manual
1HZ 4.2 diesel with what looks like a CT series turbo (installed by PO in japan)
oem F+R lockers
locking hubs converted to manual
Old Man Emu Suspension Kit <2k miles from cruiser outfitters (Medium...
Are they easy to get state side?
The truck currently sits at just over 6'6" which is too tall to fit in my work garage and also i can't park it under the lift in my garage (even raised to the limit) so if i went up in tire size, i'd still like to lose height overall. Right now i park on the...
Thank you - next time anything in this range pops up on the OEM side i might just pull the trigger. They aren't common here in the states, unfortunately. I do already have flares though, if that ends up being a problem :)
i said they were off a 75 in my first response. Regardless, If it's true that they are all interchangeable then why would the 15x7-20 have potential backspacing issues as noted above by @FJ73Texas? If i need more backspacing than they are not all interchangeable.
if you are aware than you know what my doubts are?
But to recap: i found a japanese auction that was selling 15x7-20 wheels. They were advertised as being on an HZJ75. Although i can purchase them through a third party site, i don't have the ability to ask the seller if they would fit my HZJ77...
I'm actually trying to take a little height away from my setup too but good to know on the tire selection. As FJ74Texas says, -20 is the offset of the wheel. This is the measurement of where the wheel mounts, compared to the absolute center of the wheel. -20 means the hub is 20mm towards the...
Hi all, i've got aftermarket 16s on my 91 HZJ77 and have found some oem 15x7-20s. curious if anyone knows if they will have fitment issues?
thanks
bret
Yeah the jhoooks are about $120 which is a lot for wipers... I bet the price is about the same even with the newer models (that's what the jhook is - a newer 70 series wiper arm).
Thank you - i will definitely pull the panels and check. Does the arm come with everything needed to mount and replace that ball that's currently on it or is the that potentially a different part?
I'll have to check and see if the elements are okay. I would hope whoever tinted it was smart...
