Is the treaty oak Dobinsons listed here, Dobinson GX470 Suspension Kit, the dual rate? They seem to get better reviews. Also, I am planning on running an ARB front with a winch within the next year. What set would you recommend?
Wow once again thanks for the advice and information! A common theme seems to be tires. I currently have road tires with 20% tread left. Sound's like those should be replaced soon.
Wow! This is all great advice. I am looking to get out with some folks next saturday for some dirt trails. There is a little short, >200 yard, trail near my house that has some muddy sections that I have played in.
How fast is too fast for 4low?
Thanks for all of the advice! Once you hit the center diff button how long does it take to engage? Do you do it while stopped or moving slowly?
That diffs for dummies article was very good thanks ford the link!
I am new to off roading and I am looking to learn how and when to use things like the center locking diff, 4hi and 4 low ect. Are there any good videos or articles to read that you would recommend to learn the basics? I am worried that I might damage something if I engage things at the wrong...
I was going to say to look into Maxtrax or an equivalent type product. I have never personally used them but just from watching countless youtube videos they seem to be the first step in getting out of a situation and usually they do a darn good job. No maintenance and less money seem like a...
It is a seal from Home Depot. I think he used two different ones. The thin one to clean up the cut on the fender and then the thicker one under the head light. They may have been from a garage door.
I have been wondering this myself and I did some research. It seems like the opinions vary from moly grease and non moly grease being used on different parts to just throw what ever you have in there. One site said that the techs just grab whatever gun is around and pumped a few squirts in.

That seems like a very good deal. I bought an 04 with 90k for 15k a month ago. It had perfect service history and just had the timing belt, water pump, power steering rack, brakes, and a bunch of stuff done. Check out the lexus owners portal. If you register you can type in the vin and it will...
First ever oil change. I got to use a bunch of new crap i bought to do it;6 ton jack stands, wheel chocks, quick drain valve, ect. so it was a fun afternoon. I also recharged my AC that was having issues so that is nice and chilly now.
I was thinking of getting a simple trailer and building it up. I pretty much want a place for a RTT, 2 kayaks, and some random storage for camp gear to start. I am not sure where to start looking but That's the direction I am leaning right now.
Do you have a build list or plans? I am trying to spec out the cost and yours looks similar to my plan but with a RTT. Those military trailers can fetch a pretty penny so I am not sure if building off of another platform would be better.
