Any time y'all head to Katemcy, just let me know! I'm 2 hrs away down here in SA, so its an easy jaunt up... Once the generator comes in, I'll have A/C in the tent camper wherever I go! :D
Well, my lazy ass will eventually get around to instaling the York/Saginaw combo I got off a donor Volvo, but I'm going to get a C02 setup, too. Its just too damn easy to tote around, and it makes a great shielding gas for you MIG for those times you run out... :)
Hmm, I just regular old Rotella/T in my Powerjoke along with motorcraft filters and use the factory change interval... Seems to work fine (has 170k on the odo). We'll see how long it goes.
;)
Yeah, I got some Longs coming in... Gotta mention the PBB price, because when I checked the web it was still the old price, which isn't bad to begin with... Price wars are great for consumers though!
Don't forget to finish that FF axle!! If chromoly FF inners are ever available, I'll be going...
If you are in the USA at home, 3-phase isn't an option so quit ya braggin! :P
:D
However, unless you're doing long stringer beads on 3/16 or 1/4 using flux-core, you're not gonna run out of duty cycle with a decent 110v welder before you warp the crap out of what you're working on. You will...
Thanks for postin' the pics Woody... When I get my new ring and pinion sets, I'm gonna weld my spiders just like that (rear only). Actually those are the best pics I've seen of of the mod. I've not seen any showing that you can remove the center pin and rotate the whole mess around and weld the...
I meant to post on pbb, but it looks damn good Joel... Its amazing what a difference swampers make! You don't have a pic of yours stock? How about this for stock 60!
Hey Mark,
I recognized your name from the PBB... How're things up there? Prolly getting cold...
To remain on topic... Yeah, he probably loved the SM465 with his 350... It makes a huge difference, because a SBC will rev past 3k rpm no sweat (and sound bad ass doing it), whereas a 2F huffs and...
Hey Mark,
I have a 465 in my 60! For trail use, it kicks serious ass, but for dual duty, its gonna suck. Basically, what you have is a 3-speed tranny, and the ratios are so damn far away that you have to wind it out to 3200 rpm each gear change to make good forward progress... I have EFI...
You'll definately be happier with a wire-feed welder. If you are going to do sheet metal repair, I'd get that is both flux-cored and MIG, as gas shielded 0.023" wire is mighty fine to work with... :D
I have a Hobart Handler 135, and think its a good starter machine that can be had for cheap on...
I'd probably go with the readywelder as you can supposedly use it for a decent spoolgun in the shop when not on the trail... I wonder if the Syncrowave series can be used as just a DC power source... Hmm... ???
Sweet!!
After seeing some really bizarre tube beasts at BHCC this year, I've been tempted to try something like that myself... It won't have an aluminum block v8 though (bling!)
Keep up the good work...
Oh, and when is Kate going portal Nolen? :D
Two words: Secure Server! :D
I am glad there are plans to rework the tlca.org site and while you are at it, you should either get a root certificate to enable ssl for the membership application, or farm out the payment processing to a company that handles those (like Paypal). I am mailing in...
