Is the transfer case shifting correctly?
Are the vacuum lines switched at the transfer case?
(I have no idea if this would mess with idle.)
Just to make sure of good vaccum to transfer case, I would trace the vacuum lines from the Transfer case to the passenger side firewall.
My 89 has 2...
I think they’re still available from Toyota.
I got a set a few years ago for my 99.
They fit right and DO look better.
I figured I couldn’t go wrong with OEM, as the original sets lasted 20+ years before the sun killed the black coating.
Thank you.
Current alignment is acceptable.
Tech said it was a close as he could get to specs with the lift kit installed, and that was about 3 years 30,000 miles ago. I’ve been rotating all 5 tires. Tracks well, and no unusual tire wear that I’ve noticed. If an aftermarket UCA can get it...
The time is coming for new UCA’s.
Searching around here I’ve read all kinds of reviews on the various options available, with the exception of the ARB/OME units.
I’ve got a 99 LC with an OME lift, not very high as I wanted to keep things riding right, and I’m happy with the clearances and...
They work well.
I’ve just found the white gas to work better at altitude and in cold weather than the propane.
I keep one of them handy though, as I’ve found that some fire restrictions vary from forest to forest and state to state.
Southern Co was yes to propane and no to white gas one...
Check the coolant temp sensor on the thermostat housing. Ohms test it.
Mine wet bad a while ago, and caused misbehavior at idle and random funny starts.
I’ve had a few days when it’s hard to get ahold of Tihn.
He has responded to email well, sometimes. 🥹

RIE pricing…whoa. I understand minimum order amounts, but wow.
Kaehr was recently sold to an outfit called RIE.
They do good work! But there might be a high minimum order amount.
If you want to try another local option, I have tried Metal Finishing Specialty near Central and San Mateo.
They did some fast work, priced well, but I don’t know what kind of...
We took apart an old KeepSit cooler, a small one, at work a few years ago to blast and powder coat it for a customer.
It was her dads I believe.
We gently persuaded the plastic liner out of the lid, and coaxed the plastic liner out of the bottom.
The insulation was close to either 1/2 or 5/8...

Pehalps make sure the plug for it doesn’t have any conductive junk in it.
Did you check the wiring in the tailgate that gets “hinged “ every time it gets opened and closed?
Could be shorting there…
Look around under the truck after removing the spare for the trailer wiring signal converter.

I can only imagine what this might be like to experience.
I might suggest Dr. Cohen at InVision if you don’t find any other leads.
She specializes in optometry and behavioral optometry OT for CHILDREN.
I’ve seen all kinds of kids there doing different OT when I’ve stopped in for an eye exam...
Visual check first.
If anything looks wonky, there should be some testing procedures in the FSM for the coolant temp sensor, and some other sensors on the thermostat housing.
Also double check ALL the sensors and connectors on the thermostat housing.
There’s some data coming from them I believe that goes into the EFI system…just thinking at it.
Check the trailer wiring converter box, if you have trailer wiring.
It’s a little dohickey that converts the signal for trailer lights.
Sometimes shorts out.
Look above spare tire. Zip tied or double sided taped in there somewhere.
Strong work!
There are replacement/new converter boxes available, if you want to get the trailer lights working again. They’re not much more than the same part that you removed. I put one in mine. So far so good.
Again, strong work!
