My '95 F80 had a steering wheel that felt like a Cadilac and my '92 HDJ80 feels like a tank. The HDJ has a leak. Before I take it off to try resealing, I wanted to see if anyone knew if I was expecting too much out of the HDJ pump compared to the Gasser or if it is just a sign that I need a...
If the clock spring is an issue you might find it can still be installed. I installed a 2014 Camry wheel in my first series ‘92 80. The new clock spring fit in a lot better than I thought it might. I had to do a little work with the blinker mechanism but it eventually worked. I haven’t had any...
I just decided to tackle my windows. Any chance the repairs made any difference? I decided to go all out with one of my windows to see what would happen. New liners, wipers, brand new OEM motor assembly and new Switch Doctor Switches. Cleaned contacts and removed the entire assembly from the...
It will work just fine. Basically bolt it right in. If I were you I would just remove the airbag puck in the wheel and be good to go. No wheel controls so clock spring won’t be an issue. That’s an easy one I bet.
I appreciate that. I trust this guy and he is one of the only guys in Atlanta Georgia that will work on my truck. But he definitely does not only work on pumps. Maybe someone can tell me this. Is there anything special about removing, the reinstalling the pump and injectors as long as you...
I'd do that if I could take out the pump and replace it after it is done. Not something I'm comfortable doing on my own. Burt I would rather send it off to someone like that trust me.
It is time to rebuild the pump in my ‘92 HDJ80. It is starting to leak and my fuel mileage is even worse than the usual bad. Doing research now and the more I read the more I am getting conflicting opinions. Some advice would be nice.
I am going to be buying all OEM unless I can be convinced...
Sorry. That means nothing really. It is just part of my designation that I find myself having to use to buy parts. Especially on Amayama. My truck is a HDJ80L-GCMNXW
I am about to have my clutch rebuilt and in the rare case my flywheel needs to be replaced after resurfacing is there anyone in the Atlanta area that has one that I could buy and/or replace with a brand new OEM if I had to do it? In order to get one it will be a few hundred bucks to buy, ship...
I agree completely. I am going to do a better bleed and try again. But at the same time, I was stomping the brakes on a hill with pizza MTs. But I still have a feeling you are right. I have to say though, I have to give credit to those notoriously small discs for locking up.
Just in case anyone is still watching: Just took the trailer out for a first spin since replacing the master cylinder and all of the freaking brake lines (dually too). This trailer was a mess. I have to admit I should do a better job bleeding my lines with a second person since I am not...
I thought about that. I just rebuilt the whole hitch and I am now hitting myself for not just replacing the dampers while I was in there. But I am not sure what condition they are in yet since it needed a new master anyway. Hopefully I will have it on the road next week to see how it does.
Oh hell! That will be a problem for me for the same reason. This goes into some research I have to do, but there is no way I can see to disable that on mine. Turned out I had to do a full overhaul of the system including buying a new master cylinder. So since I have the brake lines removed in...
I appreciate the help. Since the load in my trailer will almost always be changing a great deal then maybe I will just keep them as is. I just assumed they were mostly for runaway trailer brake systems but if they can provide actual driving brakes then I will probably just tune them up and keep...
I just picked up a trailer that was a little bigger than I had planned on buying. It is a 7X14 tandem enclosed Wells Cargo. It has hydraulic surge brakes which I have never had or used. I just wanted to see if anyone could tell me if there is a way (that I cannot find doing a search on these...
