Last two days I drove Lucy (My 86 FJ60) had random battery meter spikes which tapped it out as high as it would go. I noticed the air ramped up and started blowing out harder for 2-5 seconds first then the meter spiked. As soon as the air slowed, the meter went back to twelve. Curious if it...
I'm wanting the front and back to match, so I'm going to reupholster them with vinyl to match the panel trim. Wish I could find OEM cloth, but I have a better chance of finding Bigfoot.
i just got mine in today. They look good, but no instructions. I don't even know which is the dome and which is rear. Does anyone have instructions on how to install them?
Shop called today and said it was a u-joint bearing issue that will be replaced and balance the driveshaft. I'll report back after a test drive tomorrow when I pick her up.
My steering wheel would need to be turned 10 degrees to the left to keep the wheels going straight. Shop said it was because of the shackle being broke from frame and that my sway bar was too short. No vibrations before, added a longer sway bar and welded shackle back and vibrations happen now.
That's all they said they noticed. Watched a video about the angle of the u-joints not being zero and how that causes the shakes. Suggested adding a shim to the leaf springs. Could have raised the angle of u-joint coming off the engine by fixing the busted shackle that broke lose of the frame...
I read some of those threads also. Makes sense. I had my tires checked at Goodyear last week and they were in good shape. They discovered the broke shakle and sway bar being to short. Guess i'll take it back to the shop. Dang.
I was having some steering problems so I took it to a shop for some work. Now I get some serious shakes when I get around 35 mph, then even bigger shakes at 60 mph. Odd thing is it gets loud when I let off the gas when I'm slowing down from 60 mph. Here's what was done:
- Replaced sway bar
