Land Cruiser leans to the right (PS) and pulls left (DS)

If I did install the tall coils on PS rather DS then it should be leaning to the left, since the right side would be taller. Mine leans to the right meaning left is taller, which cant be since the coils would be taller to compensate for the driver and fuel tank. I don't believe my left is taller...

Land Cruiser leans to the right (PS) and pulls left (DS)

Didn't pull left after suspension or tires. Pulled left after that one wheeling trip. I haven't gotten it aligned because I assume it leans and pulls from the same issue. I can't imagine it being out of alignment causing a lean as well. Although you're right, an alignment may be a good idea to...

Land Cruiser leans to the right (PS) and pulls left (DS)

Pull is not specific to braking. Bushings are original and could be culprit, however they are all still there and don't appear to be chunking or loose.

Land Cruiser leans to the right (PS) and pulls left (DS)

I believe the coils are installed correctly. Followed slee instructions and swapped for US 80 as per instruction. Although I can't really double check without removing the coils and measuring. They are not labeled "A & B" rather "851 X for both fronts & 860 X for both rears."

Gear Oil Puddle Underneath Transfer Case

Wife confirmed it by smell, it is not gear oil. So upper oil pan arch, valve cover gasket, any others I should check off the list? I'm still somewhat new to cruisers.

Gear Oil Puddle Underneath Transfer Case

I will dig around up there. Valve cover was replaced last year with OEM, could have failed possibly. I have not heard of the upper oil pan arch.. I know for a fact the my oil pan seal is bad (has been for years but never had this issue). I have terrible sense of smell, but it seems to stink...

Gear Oil Puddle Underneath Transfer Case

The speedo sensor is on the back end of the tcase, correct? If so, I have no seen any oil coming from that area.

Gear Oil Puddle Underneath Transfer Case

I am 100% sure it is gear oil. It is the color of motor oil but has a pungent smell to it.

Gear Oil Puddle Underneath Transfer Case

My 1993 has been leaking gear oil and I cannot determine the source. So far I assume it is the front output seal. Whenever I check the gear oil level it never seems to be low even though it leaves a sizable puddle every week. I would like to fix soon. What else should I be inspecting?

Leaking Front Output Seal on Transfer Case

Is a press required for the job? Or will a hammer and some wood get it done?
  12. nicopodaca

Nobody has seen the seal I have seen...

Hoping to get a reply from an old thread, is it possible to do this job without the use of a press? It seems you may have.

Leaking Front Output Seal on Transfer Case

When disassembling the TC, will I compromise any gaskets that will need to be replaced?

Leaking Front Output Seal on Transfer Case

That was my concern. Thanks for confirming what I was already thinking, a second opinion always clarifies the mind. Looks like I will be doing that sometime soon. Thank you!

Leaking Front Output Seal on Transfer Case

Former lurker, new to posting on mud, not sure if this question has been asked or if this is the right place to post. If it has been asked or if this isn't the right place to post then direction to the proper thread would be appreciated. I have a 93 Cruiser and the front output seal on the TC...

What else to replace with valve cover removed

Haha I've noticed! I've already been doing research on the suggestions figuring out which ones I am doing and which ones I'm not.

What else to replace with valve cover removed

Oh ok. I was reading someone's write-up on the job and they had mentioned removing that.

What else to replace with valve cover removed

I will be removing the upper intake manifold in order to take off my valve cover to replace the valve cover gasket and spark plug tube seals. I'm new to working on this motor so what else should I look at replacing while I have it taken apart?

    CEL code 14, 94 LC

Did you ever figure out what caused the 14 code? I'm in the same predicament. Driving along when the motor cut out. Cranks strong but doesn't start. Checked codes and came back with 14

    FJ80 Crank no Start

Hopefully that is the case. I'll try getting another one and see if that fixes the issue. If not, then I'll know more of what it isn't.
