    12H-T setup/tuning/EGT

12ht stock will run 750c pre turbo, add more air (boost) or even better intercooled air, mine is 15psi in the inlet manifold, pump maxed out, 500-600 max pre turbine

Builds An HJ61 followed me home to Texas

If only this was the case, when the ring lands wear, then the rings break, often with very little indication, then they break into ever smaller pieces damaging the cylinder walls, getting past the other rings scoring the crank, blocking piston oilers open etc etc, I've seen it all to often, 2h...

    12HT engine rebuild

The factory mls gaskets are the best, can be reused again even after 500k

Builds An HJ61 followed me home to Texas

Nice looking truck for sure Imo any unopened 12ht or 2h past 300k needs to be torn down and alfin ring land pistons need installed, I've done a few and they all wear the ring lands and break rings, if you get them early enough, a hone and pistons and it's done. Last one I did had to be sleeved...

    HJ61 12HT overheating issue

12ht and 2h are different animals for sure, since going DI 12HT, 14psi manifold, extra 2.5 turns of fuel 3" thick intercooler directly in front of radiator and condenser, needle doesn't move from the bottom of normal in mr T's guage, rest of cooling sytem is exactly the same as per 2h. could...

    12ht carnage

I can strongly advise anyone without around 350k+ (kilometres) to tear them down, and quick hone and piston/rings replacement with the alfin inserts, good for another 500k

    12ht carnage

Parent bore block, number 4 will need a dry repair sleeve

    12HT engine rebuild

Modern "glossy" gaskets don't really need the straight water trick like the old "dry" style gaskets, but it won't hurt

    12ht carnage

Pulled my 'new to me' (430000km) 12ht down, knew it had broken rings on number 4, worst I've seen though, rest looks good relatively

my first attempt at adjusting fuel timing on 2H turbo

Yes, it's not the easiest job unfortunately

my first attempt at adjusting fuel timing on 2H turbo

The first pic shows its still a little retarded, I would advance the pump a little more, so rise begins exactly on the mark

    hydro boost brake upgrade

fits with the standard airbox etc, later master cyl is longer and wouldn't fit, I used a later one to fab the adapter plate, as not to take the rig off the trail. Cut the end off the input pushrod, cut thread on the rod to accept the standard clevis, shortened the master pushrod by 6.5mm, cut...

    hydro boost brake upgrade

Works fine, is power box, not ram assist though Although I should quantify that by saying the steering has never been good enough to effortlessly steer when locker is in, in tight gnarly situations. So am used to no power steer in these situations, brakes seem to be unfussed, as is first in the...

    hydro boost brake upgrade

Installed a hydro boost out of an f250 over the weekend, 84 hj60, definitely a great upgrade, can lock the 35's at 60mph if desired. Should help hold it on those gnarly hills, where it always was a struggle to stop it rolling backward
