OEM shocks are black and labeled Toyota or Tokico. I replaced my original ones at 165K earlier this year (2001 original owner). Rear top nuts are what will take the most time. I did it in garage with tall jack stands and removing the spare. 22mm flex head on top, but this was the workhorse...
I got the ones treatsmash posted. They are great at the middle windows for my kids. In some limited research it looks like you can get them from AliExpress as well if you need less than 7 windows.
I will tape some magnets onto the vent glass so the shades will stay fixed when I open those...
Can you send me photos of the rear side to see how the body mounts and the spoiler <> mount attachments condition is?
I get discount shipping so could get you a fedex label after i know the dimensions + weight. I tried to PM you but it said your mailbox was full, or if you have email we can...
@TreatSmash how do these adhere to the window frames, are the magnets strong enough or there is mention of clips - how are those used? I'm just looking for something to keep sun out of my kids eyes, and not get some generic square/round ones off amazon.
good point - this is me over-thinking an idea. I am putting a front switch for camera and figured the left side would be easier - but maybe the right is simpler and less jumbling things around. Scratch my idea, thanks.
FWIW I think it's a great solution as is, period. My key that has my added shim, has an aftermarket non-OE transponder in it, and that might be a hair smaller etc in the casing.
By the way for anyone reading - if you have AAA towing you can use one of your "service calls" for a replacement...
I bought 1x kit since I have 2 different shaped keys (I and T shaped), and this worked great. @suprarx7nut for the T one, I put an additional thin bit of plastic to shim it more, as mine was still "ever so slightly" loose. I used a tiny slice off a disposable daily contact plastic case and...
I have not tried the skybox on gamiviti. But it should work. Currently my other car and skybox are in storage as we're remodeling, so i'll be away from both for a year or so unfortunately.
Related but not directly to chains - Bay Area (SF proper) 100 owner. I drive to Tahoe every weekend since I teach snowboarding. Yes its 150 miles of dry pavement then the last 30 can be snow covered and icy. If you frequent the sierras enough, a spare set of blizzaks or your choice of...
You could always do something like this from OEM parts if you find a way to reinforce the inside 100 Series step ladder on D column - https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/100-series-step-ladder-on-d-column.1039851/
I picked up a dissent front to replace a front ARB sahara and the visible reservoir bothered me. I didn't feel like taking off the plastic would be "better", so reshaped it to fit the reservoir better. This was probably less work than pulling reservoir off and painting it. Probably 1 hour...
FWIW, I saw on Facebook that Ben (Dissent) was doing a small run of Aluminum bumpers in Early May. I emailed them and paid immediately. I picked it up (I'm local-ish) last weekend, so it was 4 weeks from payment to being ready. They mentioned it may be a while until another run in Aluminum...
I just picked up a Yakima Skybox on craigslist, but haven't fit it to the Gamiviti rack - only my other car (BMW E39 M5 with Thule bars). Like the pic posted just above, the bottom is flat, so see no reason it can't fit on my flat topped rack. The Thule models I was looking at, were all...
I swapped a similar console into a 2001 LC, mostly for the multiple homelink buttons - I jumped power from somewhere in the sunroof. I couldn't get the ambient LED lighting to ever turn on, if either of you have a clue to the wiring involved please let me know. The lighting was way less...
@firewood I believe it's called "pinch weld", which seems like a funny name - like so TJM - Pinch Weld Kit - Slee Off Road - https://sleeoffroad.com/products/tjm036/
But I'd recommend a quick email/call to ARB USA and ask them - super friendly & responsive. I inquired about some touchup paint...
