For the 4-speed. Must have the engine mount holes on the sides. I've searched the for sale so now I turn to my stockpilers! Thanks! Tom

Central & South American Resto's 5,000 miles and flip it? What gives?

I bought one out of SA 10 years ago. It’s always ran and drove. As I’ve gone thru each system over the years, I’ve definitely found some sketchy work. So, the comments above are certainly valid. But the frame was pretty much rust free and the stuff that needed resto was the mechanicals that...

New USA 75-80 2F oversize pistons, pins, rings

What's the current market rate on 1.5mm piston sets? Wiseco is the way to go?

    Builds The Warthog v4.4

Thanks! May have to call Cam tomorrow... I know you have it mated to a 5, but do you think it would pair ok with a 4-speed (with 4.11’s)? Or too limiting? I want to be able to drive above 55!

    Builds The Warthog v4.4

So you’ve got some time on the Mosley now...what are your thoughts. I’m at a 2F crossroads trying to decide to keep or go to the dark side. I’d like to put one engine in that’s last til I’m dead.

Wanted FJ40 4.11 Ring and Pinion (Coarse) & set of Birfs

Hey, thanks for the note. I need to correct the coarse comment now that folks have explained what true coarse means. I need a 27 spline internal (to long shaft) and 30 spline into hub. So, if your spline counts match that, I'd be interested. I was able to find a 4.11 set in AZ last night...

Wanted  FJ40 4.11 Ring and Pinion (Coarse) & set of Birfs

Crackin' into a front axle rebuild and found this little gem. Yup, welded shaft. Nice. So, I'm now in the market for a new ring and pinion. WANTED: 4.11 set for 74-79 coarse (10 spline) as in picture. -or- I'd consider a complete set of 3.7 (front and rear) coarse (10 spline). Also...

    Ring Pinion Contact Pattern Advice

Adjusting pinion shaft depth by removing some shim thickness to result in a backlash of 0.75mm. Although contact was evenly distributed, without "real" torque applied, I didn't feel that great about it. Coast side was a little intense too. Rear Axle Final Result a few years later... The...

    Ring Pinion Contact Pattern Advice

OK, so I went back to about 0.012" or 0.30mm, and the contact was too minimal for me on both sides. So, I went to 0.019" or 0.48mm. I really don't like the coast side contact...soooo as RAYJON mentioned, it may be time to tweak pinion depth again. I feel like I can effectively move the accel...

    Ring Pinion Contact Pattern Advice

So, played with increased backlash. Double where I was. And accel side contact is more evenly distributed. But coast side is favoring the heel. And I have to say that I tried really hard to apply good torque for the pattern, but I think its still not meeting expectations! Backlash at 0.8mm...

    Ring Pinion Contact Pattern Advice

Thanks for the advice. Believe me, I want to see a pattern like that, badly! I hear you guys telling me to get better pressure on the teeth when I'm running patterns. I did try, but apparently this is not my strength. I'm in no rush, so I'll keep trying. Plus, I'm getting pretty good at...
