    Value question.

This soap opera should be in chat. The guy who wants a collector with a salvage title. The dude from Iowa who talks junk about other states (look in the mirror). The lib who's worried about someone's wealth and talks about how much money all the people he knows has (bragging about wealth of...

What to use to clean early head liners

Folex carpet cleaner did a great job on my 93. Don't scrub, just blot it.

    Removing headliner on a 94

If you're trying to get to the front drain tubes it's not that hard. I just dropped a portion of the headliner on my 93 last week to check the connections. Just remove the visor and clips and grab handles on both sides, drop the dome light/sunroof controls (I didn't take the mirror off), pull...

What areas to check for rust?

IMO, anyone buying a truck from an area that uses salt should take a look at the brake lines, especially the lines that run along the driver frame rail with a focus on the area between the frame rail and fuel tank. Salt accumulates in that area and the brake lines will rust through. I had that...

    Turn the key, no start...intermittent

I had the same issue with intermittent starting. Looked at starter and ignition, ended up being a slightly loose negative battery connection. YMMV

    Head comes off today

Replace the vacuum lines while you're in there and the #1 heater hose (throttle body to block). The #1 heater hose is difficult to get to if you spring a leak on the block side (ask me how I know), but easy to replace when you have it apart. I replaced all hose clamps with new OEM spring...

    brake line question-what goes where

I have mine apart right now so it's fresh in my mind. The line from the LSPV connects to the bottom on the side closest to the wheel and the shorter line from near the axle goes to the other side. In other words, facing the driver side wheel shorter bottom left, LSPV connection bottom right. Mike

Black Hub Fan Clutch Cracks Feedback

I decided to change the oil on my black hub fan clutch off of my 93 FZJ since the fan wasn't changing speeds. I pulled the fan clutch and didn't notice any leaks and the clutch had decent resistance, bearing was good too. Drained the oil and cleaned the inside and noticed on both faces inside...

Triangle Monthly Meeting - April 2015

I was hoping to meet you all this time now that I work off of Aviation (Gateway Centre), but I'm working out of town on the 1st.

    Triangle Monthly Meeting - March 4th, 2015 - 7:00pm - Rally Point

I'm going to make the April meeting since a new job takes me from east Raleigh to out by the airport. It's been too easy up to now to just travel east from work home to Clayton, but in a couple weeks I won't have an excuse not to make the meetings.

My "new" FZJ80 - CEL woes already...

I had similar symptoms with my 93. Ended up being the EFI relay was bad. The EFI relay is in the engine bay, driver side in the fuse box. Drive your truck around until warm, then check to see if the relay is hot. I could barely touch mine it was so hot. Good luck.

Drive it with the HG going?

My gasket looked okay too when I pulled the head. The machine shop found that a coolant port on the head at cylinder #6 had started to erode toward the edge, but was able to repair it. The head may also be warped as well. It's been 4 months and 4,000 miles since my HG work (by me) and my...

Possible Move to RDCH Triangle Area.

Wow small world for us 13B's. I was on a M109 in the 1st Armoured Division in Germany and a 105 in the 82nd Airborne way way back. I'm in Johnston County which is way far from Morrisville. Wake County schools really are only crazy for k-7. Once kids get into middle and high school, things...

Possible Move to RDCH Triangle Area.

I think you'll see when you're out here that Graham, Siler City and Wake Forest are pretty significant commutes to Morrisville. Mebane in Alamance County is closer to Morrisville, but still pretty far. Pittsboro is a nice small town, but if a new proposed development is approved will increase...

Spector Off-road (SOR) also sells replacement leather covers for the 80-series. I think their prices are close to Metric, but with more reliable service.

High praise for the Pioneer speaker replacement behind stock grille!

Sorry to resurrect this thread, but have a question about the speaker wire adapter plug. Crutchfield says that there is no adapter compatible for the 1993-1996 model years available, but lists one for 1997 model year. Is there really a difference between the 1993-1996 vs 1997 plugs? The...
