5-6 pounds. The stock pulley was 3.2 inches. I have a 3 inch pulley and I see ~6.5 pounds max.

I would if I could. It's based on a gut feeling developed over a 45 year stint in the car business. Totally unscientific.

Agreed, cams have been re-ground for about as long as they have been around. On rhe other hand, Toyota has been known to use voodoo when it comes to metallurgy. I could be way off base but I don't think so.

Because they are re-ground cams? Kinda like re-tread tires. How good can they be?

I've never seen the swivels get greased like that during a knuckle job.

Which method did you use when re-installing (sealing) a differential to the axle housing?

Footnote... I had to pull my front diff last summer because of a broken gasket. The new factory gasket is a steel shim with fiber faces bonded to it, kinda like the oil drain plug gasket but the steel shim is much thinner. That will solve the cracking seen with previous versions. I installed...

What's broken in my front diff??

Put an 8mm bolt in the end of the birf (as a handle) and push-pull the birf to see how much in and out play you have. If it moves much more than the width of the snap ring notch you have a long birf and a short flange. That allows excessive play.

What, exactly are you saying? did the dust cap come off by its self?

The original poster has not been seen in 13 years. I doubt he will see this.

R DOT appears on factory replacement parts that would have originally had the VIN attached to them. Original heads had VIN plates on them. You will see this on other replacement parts that were originally marked. Such as fenders, hoods and doors.

What Did You Do with Your 80 This Weekend?

This is Ellie, the protector of my wiring harnesses. She was an abandoned feral kitten that my wife found under our cabin whe she was about 7 weeks old. She is my best buddy.

What Did You Do with Your 80 This Weekend?

My wife's sunroof was found to be inoperative and we needed to get it open to check the sunroof pan drains. I opened it up and found a mouse-chewed wire in the harness right next to the motor. I don't know how the sonofabitch even got up there :bang:
