need OEM shifter assemble or if anybody knows of a company that sells the internals of the shifter assembly for rebuild to replace slop .

you can just replace the 2 bushings on the main cross shaft and that will get rid of most of the play in the shifter
there should be a sticky in the 60/62 tech section

After almost 22 years, my 62's shifter was in sad shape. Even with new OEM bushings and proper adjustment per the FSM, it still had a lot of lateral and fore/aft slop. So the other day I decided to take a break from my current projects (and troubleshooting) to tackle this and fix it for good...

My shifter is missing the thumb push button... and I didn’t know if that would be part of a rebuild kit it’s a long shot but I felt asking was probably better than trying to find one for 300$

got it, I misread you post, I thought you just had slop you wanted to take care of.
