*** update SOLD ****

I'm in Gastonia, NC & am only willing to sell the whole vehicle not tear apart. If you need a part truck & live close enough to pick it up, I might have a good deal for you.

Details
Insurance just determined today they are going to total. They stated they had to get 3 quotes from salvage yards before they can give me the buy back price. They suggested I should know the dollar amount tomorrow. I will post how much I need as soon as I know the salvage amount.

Vehicle hit on driver side. Rear axle housing damaged. See my threads for pics.

What parts are good? . . . pretty much everything else. EMS exhaust installed Feb this year (also have original exhaust with Borla cat-back in my building), motor has 126K & runs strong, FJ Cruiser wheels (I believe all 4 are ok), about 5K miles on 295/70R17 Nitto Trail Grapplers (3 good & 4th appears ok but is flat probably due to tire bead being knocked off), Halo headlights (sold originals), aftermarket LED tail lights (sold originals), leather seats in better shape than most of the ones I've seen posted on this site, 30mm spacers front & back, new Iron Man 2" shocks on front just a couple months old, 1" Roger Brown body lift, front bumper raised to compensate for body lift, AC just charged last month, LEDs in door courtesy lights, treerootCO blue LED modified ant up/down switch (very cool), 1.5" lift kit for the OEM tire carrier (from the other Adam), have extra rear crossmember for a project I WAS planning on doing & worst of all I just filled the &*^$ gas tank up the day before the wreck. Last but not least very sick knowing this Cruiser that I've got blood, sweat, tears, and even a piece of metal in my eye from is no more.:crybaby:

If you need more details & might be interested PM me.

Anyone willing to give me $2,500 for the whole thing. There has been a bunch of interest, but I really don't want to get into tearing the thing apart for a buck here & a buck there. Worst case scenario, if nobody wants to buy the whole thing from me I will find out what salvage yard gets it.

Bump to the top. I'll go down to $2,200. Anything less than this won't be worth the trouble. Keep in mind I need someone's commitment before Monday morning. This is when I have to give the insurance company my decision on whether I'm going to buy it back or not.

I would love to accommodate everyone by tearing the cruiser apart, but the vehicle is at the dealership, insurance company has gotten three bids from the salvage yards, & I really don't think a stripped cruiser is what they bid on. I don't want to get it back & tear it apart at my house. The way I see it is I've got three choices.

-Take the $9,500 insurance money & get another vehicle.

-Buy back for $1,900. Sell for $2,200. Take $9,800 to get another vehicle.

-Buy back for $1,900, take off the doors, replace the rear axle housing, drive it for another 200k.

I really hate to see this vehicle go to a scrap yard. If someone could use the motor I am sure they could sell everything else and make a little $$.

Please don't let the salvage yards have it; they will charge an arm and a leg for what they do sell and the rest will just rot in the yard.

Part it...4 years ago I bought a stock 96 M3 (different vehicle i know but similar fans) for $4600 that was totaled in a rear end collision. I took the engine out and parted the rest out. Got ALL of my money back. It is worth the time.

If you decided to go that route (bolded and italized) I have rear axle with locker sitting on jack stands that I can sell to you. It came off of a 94 LC that has 100k miles.

Thanks Adam! Looking forward to getting it up here, and getting the engine out.

Jeremy

Did someone pick it for parts?

I bought the whole thing. Planning to get mine running again, and see what is left over. Will post a new thread when I get to that stage.
