As we discussed at the February event, please use this thread to request a weekend for your HAMOM (Help a Member of the Month). We initially said the same weekend as the meeting that way we can incorporate both functions. Keep in mind that if the weekend doesn't work for you and you wish to host a different weekend than just let us know and we will work around that schedule as most feasible. Also we may have a few members who would like to have HAMOM's but may not be able to host, if this is the case shoot me a PM and we will work out a way too get you taken care of.

We have the following, PM me or Fortknox if you would like to take an available month:

August-Possible Front Axle Rebuild Tentative weekend of the 22nd
September
October
November-Front Axle Rebuild Weekend of the November 14th-See details in my post on the third page.

Sign me up for April. I did my big order of suspension stuff, so I'll attempt to work on it. The April meeting can be a last ditch effort to get it ready for OBX.

Anyone for March?

I might have some SS brake lines and a spacer to install... nothing really big but if no one else signs up it could be good just for a get together.

got to get the parts first... i'm trying to get them off of a guy at lake wylie but he hasn't responded to me yet.

Ok i'm going to be getting new bushings for my front panhard aswell as spring spacers and some SS brake lines. I'll host one on the saturday after the gulches trip if that is ok with everyone?
Nothing too hard and any reason to get together is a good one right?

Al, are you interested in the upcoming May HAMOM. If not is there anyone out there that is willing to host a May HAMOM.

I can host a May (except memorial weekend) HAMOM for someone in need :) It would need to be something we could complete or get to a, get it out of my garage project by Sunday evening :D

I've got an OME "J" lift coming for the girl's 80, should be an easy project that I could host easily...

Jerry... did you get that kit from MetalTech from his clearance post? i saw you posted you had sent an email. Just curious if you got the steering stabilizer and castor correction bushings too as they were not listed in the parts. With J's id skip the yellows and go straight to slee blue bushings. Without the bumper/winch/dualbatts/etc Js will be out of factory spec p front.

I could do a june here if the stars align and i get off my arse......

if the triangle has something in need and its taken id like july.

*UPDATED* 7/3 Ok so i wont have the block back for a couple weeks so looks like august for a 2F install

Yes, I did call Mark at MT and got the kit from them. I did get the steering stabilizer ($70) and a set of their 1.5" spacers for the front but no bushing or castor correction yet.

I'm getting mixed feedback on going with bushings (Slee) or plates (Man-a-fre), any guidance will be appreciated...

I'd go with LandTank's plates and be done with it.

I essentially havey the heavy/heavy OME combo with Slee blue bushings and am on the low side of factory spec castor. I'am also armored up so I would assume that a truck with no armor, J's and Slee blues would not be in factory specs for castor.

Alright, did some quick searching and reading but, being a newb and not really knowing what I'm talking about...WTF is a "dc shaft"?

jerry.... that is going to be a good bit of lift. Youll be in the range of needing LandTanks plates most likely or different control arms. SLee and landtank make plates.... i would not want to run the drop brackets personally b/c it reduces ground clearance. Look at whos running that setup (tools r us and creeper sleeper) and youll see most of them are running 37's. I assume you wanted the spacers for a level stance? IF you stay below J height things dont get too complicated. I started at J's all around and no weight/accessories and ran 285's, and then later 35's. It had the stinkbug, bad in my opinion, and with yellow bushings it was still low on castor by a few degrees and a lil squirrely on the road. B/C its low on castor I have not run into the vibes from DS issues. So once i correct castor ill likely need a new shaft or ujoints.

I really like the stance from Jsprings up front and Heavies in rear. With blue bushings (and an ARB) i think it would be an ideal lift to keep things simple and be able to run 35's For yours Id say it would be easier/cheaper/simpler to forgo the spacers and build a set of drawers to go along w/ that Luke bumper and stock em up to bring the back end down.:D

Thanks for the feedback and ideas.

I read through a whole bunch of threads related to this issue. I also sent a PM to LandTank and asked his opinion. He felt I was "close" to needing his brackets but didn't come off as being a salesman, that sold me. Maybe he is just a cleaver salesman.

So, they are on the way, at least my money is on the way to him. I won't be getting all the stuff until after the OBX trip so it will leave plenty of fireside points of discussion while down there...
