In my sincerest efforts to beat a dead horse....to death..lol.. Like others have said, your specific desires and long term goals are the biggest issue in any decision. My .02 is that it's a pretty serious frankenstein rig with mismatched years, which I am completely fine with, but 100% impacts...

I’ve just been daily driving mine…getting mentally prepped for a trans/transfer drop and rebuild…but I did take a pic of my wife on the hood..I tried for a Tawny Kitaen pose but she was a little shy…lol I wish I had wiped off the hood first…eh well…

I didn’t find them, but I’ve seen people cut thin rubber to put in between…I wish I had done that as they will run and cut the paint fairly quickly. I’m guessing it’s a game of, will the rubber hold water and cause rust or will the scrapes cause rust first? …:-/

Getting to this point only took a few days of unbolting stuff…end result without any sanding was good enough for me..she should be good for a while now.

I've only repainted 8-10 cars maybe, but I just did my 76 40 over christmas..After you determine if you're able to wet sand it into shine or if it's just no good (it looks like a pretty poor attempt)..I would strongly suggest pulling the truck apart, minus the tub removal. Your rubber seals all...

Are these standard on our trucks? They have no problem with me hanging off of them..
