To clarify, you have to open up the loom for the harness where it passes the EGR pipe and inspect for damage. If you find any exposed wires peel it back a bit more and then get them sorted out before putting it back together and then adding the heat resistant wrap and securing the harness so it...
Setup a PPI before you come check it out. Worth the money and time you will save if it's not a good one.
Tell the shop doing the PPI you are planning on flying in and driving home, then if a few things need to be fixed you can get those done before the trip.
Good luck!
That's a nice list, but even the most experienced 80 series technician could likely never complete it in one day :) Stuff always comes up.
You mentioned NAPA for oil filter, just make sure it's not a Wix. Search for that in the forum and you'll find that several people had catastrophic failures...
Lot of opinions out there on the PHH.
In my case I wasn't a fan of how short that hose is with the factory hard line and how much of a hassle it would be to deal with if it ever failed when I was out and about so I went with the bypass. Now the hose makes a nice gradual turn and if something...
On a 94' the only code with a seven (7) in it is 71, EGR (this is a common one).
I'd recommend pulling the ECU fuse to reset the check engine light and then see if the code comes back.
Sounds like you have a 93/94 FZJ80 and based on the TOYOBD1 readouts it sounds like the IAC is functional. I would still recommend pulling the IAC and cleaning the passage in case its clogged up.
It's a lot easier to remove the IAC when the throttle body is off, and then you can clean it at the...
Tested out the new tires (Toyo Open Country AT3 285/75/16) in the snow (lots of trips to the mountain and back recently). So far I'm very impressed with these tires, I have the same tires on my truck as well.
Also gave it a mid winter wash to get the road grime off. Having a hot water hose tap...
One man bleeder bottle and it's an easy job. I replace the brake fluid on all four of my vehicles every two years, as well as brake hose replacements, etc and have never had an issue with the one man bleeder.
If you haven't opened the bleeders in a long time spray them with a bit of penetrating...
