Hi, I just finish doing a tune up on my 86 fj60 w/ 213k using oem air and fuel filters, plugs, wires, cap, rotor and pcv valve, and set ign timing w/ light to factory spec (7 btdc w/ vacumm unpluged and capped) before that it was way off and running like s*** b/c whoever worked on it in the past...

just installed the new t-stat in and so far so good :clap:, drove around several times today after the truck sat for a while and the gauge doesn't move anymore past about 1/4 way up, heater blows nice and warm, so im happy. next up in the following month will be a tune up/ base line the fluids...

i didn't think about that.. but i did flush out the coolant twice already, do you think i need to do a power flush (machine) when i swap out the t-stat in a few days?

well i decided to drain the coolant out and open up the t-state housing just to double check to make sure i had it installed the right way which i did and put new toyota red in it, fired it up and let it idle w/ cap off for about 15mins, manage to burp a few times and heater blowing nice and...

nope im positive its gear oil because of the color.

well i just got done installing in the man-a-fre oil return line kit for the trans and t-case, both the tranny and t-case were a bit low on gear oil so i topped it off about 1/2qt on each and installed the kit, took it for a short test drive and still leaks, although it doesn't seem to be as...

maybe, although im positive i installed it the right way (jingle valve up and facing towards the radiator) tomarrow im going to drain the coolant out again and and take out the t-stat housing and double check to make sure its in the right direction and see where it goes from there.:meh:

so i just bought a 92 p/u w/ the 22re (196k) and decide to drain the coolant since it looked kinna dirty and replaced the t-stat w/ a toyota one while i was at it, anyways all seems good except when i 1st start it after it's sat for a while and drive with the heater on then the gauge starts...

hmm thats wierd..lets give it another shot.:meh:

Last night when I checked the t-case it did seem low (1/8 pinkie) and really dirty so i drained the remaining of the gear oil which seemed to be have a fair amount left and refilled it but i haven't check the tranny yet, I should of done that, anyways I will check it tomarrow and see where its...
