Thanks JDM. Apparently Toyota considers the HAC information top secret or something. Guess it’s just time to tweak timing & fuel ratio until something works. If I figure it out I’ll post the procedure.

I took a look at the Safari turbo destructions like Blomdala suggested. Makes me wonder if increasing fuel flow with the main fuel screw because there’s more headspace between the injector body and the top of the HAc than between the body and the regular top?

Looks to me like the walking on the hood thing is a hard no. Without the RPG and combat flipflops anyway. Oh well, my crazy ideas don’t always pay off, but it’s still fun to check these things out.

The RPG guy is important to balance out the axle weight for the cannon mount…🤣 I’ve seen that French military variant, very cool.

Yeah, you’re probably right, I thought I remembered seeing some with a diamond plate panel on the hood too. I figured the fenders on a Landcruiser were definitely not going to happen without extensive custom work, i.e. total replacement with thicker metal & anchors.

Serious question that may meet with some derision - but has anybody tried reinforcing the hood on a 70 series so you can stand on it? That was something I always liked about the old Defenders, that you could use it for front access to the top.

Just to be sure, the voltage regulator on a 1991 J75 is internal, right? If not, where is it, because I’m not seeing it on any of the wiring diagrams or my shop manual. I‘m assuming that when the schematic says “Alternator w/IC Regulator” thats what it means.

I was really afraid somebody was going to say that - because deep down that's my suspicion but I'm in denial. On the upside - upgrade time!
