I know this was a long time ago, but my son ended up with this and the gauges are wonky again. Actually all of the electrical is out. Is there anything you can remember from when you fixed it that would possibly help us? Thanks!

I don't check in on 'mud very much anymore, but hopefully you get those bikes running. I haven't ridden mine much since I bought a KLR650... then a new Honda Africa Twin. :D Maybe I should fire it up and let one of the boys ride it to school.
