Wait, they bolt right up? I had been told there were differences but not what the differences were, which is why I am asking. Are you saying they will fit without any modifications?

Is there any way pre-75 doors with the "metal" inners can be made to fit on late-model 40s? Specifically, looking to fit these style doors on a 1982 FJ45. I like the way these look better than the "door card" style I have now.

So you were right, Byron, parking brake switch. When depressed, red square light on dash goes out. Thanks for the help all.

Could it a parking brake switch? Does this truck have a light to indicate when the parking brake is engaged? I should know that but i've never actually driven the truck, bought it last year and it wasnt running. Just finished an engine swap.

Thanks Dude, but wires are too short to reach the doors.

Byron that's a good thought and I also thought it might be a switch under either the brake or clutch pedal but the wire is too short to reach any of the pedals.

Reassembling a 1982 FJ45 that I took apart a year ago, anyone know what this thing is? It is inside the cabin, has a little clicker on it that can be depressed but springs back when released. I stupidly forgot to label it when I took things apart. Thanks

I wish I had posted 3 hours earlier yesterday! This morning I loosened everything up as you guys suggested and had the engine mounts bolted down in 10 minutes. I was using the correct mounts, the longer passenger mount in the photo above was correct, but it's amazing how far off those...

Thanks for the help. Glad to know I’m not the only one to have run into this, was feeling pretty foolish about not getting it to work. I’ll give it another shot in the morning and let you know how it goes.

Installing the replacement 2F into my 1982 FJ45. New engine is from a 1983 FJ60. I cannot get the motor mount brackets to line up. I am reasonably sure that I am using the brackets from the old 2F but obviously I am doing something wrong. On the driver's side, this is the bracket I am using...
