I couldn't get my CD player to work, but I was going to replace it with an aftermarket double DIN unit anyway. My installer gave me the old unit and said "shake this". I did and it sounded like I was shaking a little kid's piggy bank. Which it was. Loaded with coins pushed into the CD...
@skink That DMX1057XR looks great. These weren't a thing a few years ago when I put in my Kenwood double din. The volume knob would be a great add, as well as Wireless Carplay. Is the screen position adjustable at all?
Not to hijack your thread, but my cluster light went out again (after 2 days). I'll replace the fuse and hope for the best, but something is causing it to blow. I did pull out my aftermarket radio a few days before this started happening, so I'm thinking it's somehow related.
I just reformed my front woofers yesterday using the Simply Speaker kit. On one side the foam had completely deteriorated. The other side crumbled at the touch. Predictably, the sound is much fuller and overall sounds pretty good to me. I won’t replace the speakers unless I have to replace...
I’m electing to reform mine. It’s less expensive and keeps it stock, which is good enough for me right now. One day I may replace the whole thing with after market.
Close call, but for me it was interior aesthetics that tilted my decision. I didn’t want nav. But there are a lot of factors that go into this, and a number of threads you can read to sort the plusses and minuses. I spent almost a year looking for one that checked all my boxes.
Thanks for the info. How well does the light project? I have aftermarket led reverse bulbs that seem plenty bright, but they don’t illuminate the area behind the vehicle too well.
