Parts supplier highly rec'ds these for 93 80. Toyota apparently uses them as OEM on some of its models now. Price seems right @ $50 a pair for front pads including shims. What's the harm?

Tucker: I don't agree with Riley re: unavailability of 93 OEM starters. OEM remanufactured (not just rebuilt) units are available thru many outlets. I checked with Denso directly and they told me they remanufacture the starters themselves. Cost is about $200 with 12 month warranty for 1.4KW P/N...

I am mechanically challenged and wouldn't know where the contacts are located much less able to replace them. Does remanned starter include new contacts? Guess I should feel fortunate that I haven't had to replace starter yet @ 150K miles. Thanks Brent.

I'm a little late to this topic but have some info to share. I tow 5,000 # trailer with my 93 LC. Also use Wgt. Dist. Hitch. Toyota recommends against WDH b/c they feel it could adversely impact braking. I've experienced none of that after towing 2,000 miles over all kinds of terrain. Only thing...

FWIW, I have a 93 LC with TRD SC that I use to tow a 5,000 lb enclosed Featherlite trailer and classic car and have had no trouble with overheating with stock thermo. Needle remains horizontal even in summer towing up grade.
