I also own a KZJ78 and I would not expect the 4wd light to flash due to a transmission problem. I would assume the Trans light near the shifter would light up, or the OD off light would flash near the steering wheel. Just thinking out loud...

@OGBeno shoot maybe I overlooked that. I have an 87 BJ74 and the part number i came up with is 69820-90K00 and didnt really see anything come up here in the states except for Cruiser Parts.

Did you Mess with any of your egr or vacuum lines? Double check those. 1kz-te has a rough shut down when the secondary butterfly doesnt close.

…as someone who also replaced all 35-year old lines throughout, 3x pumps plus 2x filters and the pickup on an LJ, I feel your pain. Bite the bullet to make your next 30-years a breeze, and replace it all from pickup to injection pump.
