What have you done to your 100 Series this week?

Thanks @ClassyJalopy I think you should, your truck will look even better with it. Just keep in mind the rims looked odd afterwards and I had to paint those too. Polycarb pad on a drill to scuff them up, rustoleum clean metal primer, black spray paint, and an afternoon did the trick nicely though

What have you done to your 100 Series this week?

Finally blacked out the cladding and rims. Took a bit longer than expected to get everything done I wanted to, but can’t believe how much better it looks. Once I had one side done I couldn’t stand to look at the other side. The darker rims were a must too, just didn’t think it looked right with...

Lifetime fuel filter my ass. Sure 345k miles, and according to maintenance records never been done, but this truck still seems to have a long life ahead of it. Mr T and I now have a love/hate relationship, at least until I forget about this. Change your filters, it’s super easy and about $30.

    Fuel Filter

Yes I know this is an old thread, but one I checked out before changing mine. I have 345k on the clock, and from the maintenance records appears likely it’s never been done. But these are absolutely NOT lifetime filters, considering our trucks seem to have no problem pushing 300k+ miles if...

    Finally extended my breathers

Lots of good info here, thank you! For those that have done this already, and have the earlier setup with the transmission and transfer case lines attached to the dipstick, I’ve been wondering. Did you do anything to seal those ports where both lines enter the dipstick after removal? I may...

    Button under steering wheel?!

@ramangain thank you for that! What a lifesaver, almost forgot it was time to replace my differential girdle springs!

Need advice: How to disable lx470 subwoofer?

Wow @jlm43 how on earth did yours get that bad!? In that case I’d certainly have to agree, gasket maker would just make a huge mess and likely would be impossible to fully seal. Mine was bad but not half that, it drove me nuts and quickly worked it’s way up then priority list. I can’t imagine...

Need advice: How to disable lx470 subwoofer?

Btw the gasket maker fix was recommended to me by a car audio store owner. He said this is how they repair any speaker they are unable to replace FWIW. I’m much happier having my non-rattling bass back

Need advice: How to disable lx470 subwoofer?

I had to remove my KISS drawers including the u-bolts on that side that attach to the seat brackets. That was removal. While reinstalling, I found it was doable just by removing the upper portion of the paneling and gently bending it out of the way, saving myself 20 minutes and a few choice...

    DIY Immobiliser (self arming)

Great ideas here. Will have to rig something up myself if I’m gonna keep pouring money into my truck. Any reason this wouldn’t work on a 100? In the meantime, I have a 300,000+ mile decal. Hoping that’ll help to dissuade most potential thieves

For Sale '98 LC 100 - CV Axles OEM Pair $300

Where in FL? I’m visiting family and started having CV concerns on the way out, would be nice to take care of them before heading back XC. Mine aren’t OEM (big mistake) so not worth rebuilding. Shipping would likely be way too expensive though, ideally I could just pick them up. Thanks

Wanted 100 Series Front Diff 4.30

Putting in a front locker soon as I can afford the install (I’m a decent mechanic but the regear process is a bit daunting). Should be next few weeks. If you’re still looking by then I’ll reach out, you can just have mine. Would rather see it go to a good home, something about leaving my perfect...

Jerry Can Holder Mount/ Hi-Lift Jack Mount on OEM bumper

Yes it’s a standard nato pintle pattern, same on the 100 as the 80. Unless you have the hole for the receiver in your rear crossmember, as some newer LX470s do. That one may have the same pattern too but I can’t say for sure.

Go Long! Any advice for a cross-country drive in the Hundy?

Just did 3900 miles Tahoe to Florida without worrying about the truck. Anything can happen, we’re talking about mechanical equipment after all, but fuel costs aside I wouldn’t want to drive anything else cross-country. And I have probably 10 times already, but this was the first I’ve done it in...
