What have you done to your 100 Series this week?

Looks like a few of us have gone this route now, definitely a nice little upgrade for $20 and an easy afternoon. Just line up with one of the holes in the crossmember and you only have to drill through the Tupperware. 1 🍌 job

What have you done to your 100 Series this week?

My thought was that with 35s, the stock 4.3 gearing would be unbearable (based entirely on others opinions on this forum and elsewhere). It’s noticeable with 33s, especially in the mountains around here. Can’t imagine how bad it would be with larger tires. Was hoping to improve mpg as well, but...

What have you done to your 100 Series this week?

Somebody talk me out of selling my Nitro 4.88 regear kit. I feel like the $1600 could be better used elsewhere, and after just tackling a regear job with a buddy I don’t know that I want to go through that again. I think I’d rather rebuild an engine than have to regear again. I know there’s a...

What have you done to your 100 Series this week?

Just a heads up for the future, those cables aren’t worth s*** in the mountains. If you can afford it, go with actual chains if you’re going to be doing any driving in real snow. I drive those passes daily and have seen some pretty unbelievable things. Those broken cables litter the roads...

New 2002 LX470 - Deer Damage!! Need help!!

Yeah definitely replace the air box, it’s missing a piece right where it seals. No bueno. Bet you can find a used one pretty easily and for much cheaper than new. Or upgrade to the cyclonic filter I’ve seen in a couple rigs! The damage seems to be very similar to what happened to mine. But...

New 2002 LX470 - Deer Damage!! Need help!!

If you want it done perfectly like it never happened, and a body shop to do the work, it’ll definitely not going to be cheap. That’s how the insurance co was able to so easily write mine off as totaled. If you are ok having a less than perfect inner fender (not the fender itself, the body...

New 2002 LX470 - Deer Damage!! Need help!!

I smashed mine up good a few years back, in the same spot. It’s really not that much damage, but the insurance co called mine totaled so they could save some $. I was able to continue driving to work when all was said and done. The other car was headed to the junkyard. These things are tanks...

    So, you're curious about Seafoam?

Screw seafoam. I tried this out and it gave me a good scare. Isolated the issue to an ignition coil, the plug was completely fine though. Replaced the coil and we’re good again, finally. After some research, it’s a fairly common issue. How it kills ignition coils and wires is beyond me, maybe it...

Can someone explain to me why people get aftermarket suspension and lift when a well functioning AHC system can raise the car by 3 (?) inches?

Can’t get enough of this pic. Representing for my new favorite 100 color! I might be biased though... 3x locked? Just realized it looks like some daylight under that rear tire

Can someone explain to me why people get aftermarket suspension and lift when a well functioning AHC system can raise the car by 3 (?) inches?

Do you still have any fluid? How much do you want for them? I’m finally getting a chance to refresh my AHC and hopefully get another 370k out of it. Did well for the 100k I’ve been the owner, but starting to show signs of needing maintenance. This thread has helped confirm my belief that, in...

Hey give the man a break, he’s at home it’s not like he’s out in public wearing them! (giving benefit of the doubt, just don’t tell us if you do wear them in public)

    Why 35"?

Does anyone know which tools are required to do this in the field? I’ve got 360k miles on my front diff and it’s the earlier 2-pinion design. Until I get the funds or time to finally install the lockers and regear kit, I feel like I’m on borrowed time. OTOH, I’ve really put this truck through...

    Wanted Wilco Offroad Hitchswing HS32220

Hey I’ve got an unused Wilco high clearance model for sale if you’re still interested. Originally bought to get my 33” spare on the truck since I couldn’t fit it in the stock location, but up doing something custom to make it all work. Few scratches from moving around the garage but nothing...

Haha yep, a true adventure cat that one. His name is Slice. He’s been to 42 states and 33 national parks. He’s been off leash for a few years now too, just follows me when we go hiking. Just revived his instagram page, will be posting adventures regularly there. @overlandingcat

What have you done to your 100 Series this week?

For the record, I wish I had gotten my front bumper prior to this fun day. Now that it’s cleaned up, but not perfect, I like the character it adds. I believe with the right mindset, you’ll eventually feel the same

What have you done to your 100 Series this week?

Is it weird that I like this look with the stump rash?? I’m actually impressed. I personally like cruisers that I know are being used properly 🤷‍♂️. A little character makes it a real truck. Clean up any surface rust, spray with some duplicolor, and call it a day
