This happened to us as well on a trip last summer, on the way back I adjust the luggage in the roof top box further forward and only filled the tank to half, we stop every couple hours anyways with kids and dogs so it wasn't an issue.
I thought about using one in the past but for the cost to buy one it wasn't cost effective, seeing that you already have the trailer depending on your needs it could be possible depending on what you want to do with it. This trailer are usually pretty light duty.
I've seen in general that NADA is closer to accurate than KBB, funny that dealers will price their car around NADA but want to give trade values off KBB.
A newer LX is far from my budget to be in the age and mileage range I would want, the GX while very nice, the 3rd row is very limited and I strongly dislike the side swing tailgate. If the tailgate lifted like a 4Runner or was 2 piece like the LX then it would likely be sitting in my garage.
