Did you ever sell that last ‘80 fj40? Im still sitting on the ‘79 I bought from you a couple years ago. I’ve been distracted by other cruiser’s but hope to get it up and driving this winter.
I would love to rotate one of mine to “reinvest” it into another project but now is definitely still not the time to sell and expect to recoup your money. I think we hit the market correction and prices will be slow to rise on anything other than nicely done resto mods. I don’t see anyone...
Its been a while since an update but it looks as though we might have hit bottom with the FJ40 market. There are still some bargains to be had but I’ve noticed asking prices are coming down to realistic prices and are selling. What have you noticed with sales and prices?
I lived in Vail in the 90’s and 00’s. The only red fj40 that I noticed was owned by a guy named Mike who lived in East Vail. It was a rust bucket then too.
We had a hitch hiker on the way to town in the form of a rat snake come down under the passenger dash and rubbed my wife’s foot. It was quite the adventure coming to a good place to stop. Im not sure if it’s still in there but I’ve opened up everything to allow him to exit under peaceful means.
Spray type silicone can help with a sticky cable. Just spray at both ends and work the cable back and forth. Also check your linkage bushings for excess wear.

They could definitely do jungle training down here. The vines have taken over the china berries and choking the cherry laurels. My poor tractor has been put to the limits on this project.
