Your welcome👍,
Before you grind down your rivet gun I’ll send you pictures of what I did to mine. Hope everything works out for you, just remember theres no rush, the mouldings don't hold the screen in, so if you have to drive around for a while without the mouldings fitted it's no big deal, as...
Hi Jfcol,
I don't think sealing around the screw heads will solve your problem, as the water gets in in-between the outside moulding and the A pillar, the A pillar is hollow and open at the bottom, so when the rivet holes are damaged water gets in and finds it’s way down to whatever is below...
Wow, well done for keeping her going, I had 4.0 diesel 60 series many moons ago that had almost 400,000 miles on it before I sold it, my 2004 4.2 diesel 100 only has 90,000 at the moment.
Good luck 🤞 I’m sure it’ll all be as clear as mud when you get the answer, or as clear as grease.
I think there’s a little old Japanese man that knows the answer, muttering under his breath “I’ll get my own back”
The only question you asked was, "Which grease goes where" I thought this Toyota 'Master Mechanic' answerd that question, I thought he said that it didn't matter what type of Toyota CV axel you are servicing, I thought he also said that they have been asking Toyota Japan which grease goes where...
One of the lesser known and less likely water entry points that could affect the headlining, are the roof rail bolt holes, the holes are not blind so they go right through the roof, the bolts are seald from the factory but as we all know sealant can fail over the years, I don't think this is...
Just hope it's not the timing belt tensioner pully, they have been known to make noise and eventually seize if not changed at the same time as the timing belt.
Not sure if the Petrol version is an 'interference' engine or not, I know that the Diesel version is, think I'd get my engineer's...
I always like to start with the simplest and easiest things to get at, and look at.
The arm that connects the hight control sensor to the adjustable link, over the years they rust through and drop off, also the adjustable link can cause problems, like rusting and seizing.
There are plenty of...
Try, with motor running (so's the battery don't go flat), lights on full beam for a while, that will warm up the plastic film and make it easier to remove, worked for me.
Just depends how much, time, money, experience and the right tools you have to DIY, or do you have it fitted at a dealership or an independent, yes, you could replace the rack but then comes the dilemma, genuine Toyota, expensive but has longevity, after market, usually much cheeper but don't...
Judging by the state of your steering rack gaiters/boots, I would say the least you should do is fit new seal kits and gaiters/boots to the rack, see post 10 in this thread, I also think that it won’t be long before you rack starts to leak even if you decide to only fit new gaiters/boots, so you...
