    Cheap O2s?

Other than mileage is there anyway to find out if the O2 sensors (2 right) need repalcing? Read that this can have a 5%+- effect on mileage, can anyone verify? thanks

It’s really too bad tire manufactures don't list rolling resistance of tires. The 10% mileage loss you quote assuming a 45,000 mile life of tire, 15 mpg (I wish) is 300 gallons of gasoline. At $3 gas this exceeds the cost of tires $900. However since I only put 4,500 miles a year on this...

Wondering. When you go away from stock it adds weight in addition to adding height. For instance the Goodyear 285/75R-16 D (3305lbs and 65psi) weighs 58lbs. The OEM Michelin LXT M/S 275/70-SR 16 weighs (2601 lbs and35lbs) 41lbs. Any estimates on percentage of gas mileage loss with all that...

Severe Snow Symbol on an AT Tire

Getting back to the Sever Snow symbol when you look up the Revo on the Bridgestone page they show that it includes a set of technologies called “UNI-TAQII” Bridgestone Tire Some of these components include Super EPC Counteracts the effects of heat giving more flexibility to the tire...

Severe Snow Symbol on an AT Tire

A little information is a dangerous thing. I had read somewhere that the float to avoid developing friction / micro layer of water / ice was relevant as it was with deep snow. It would seem evacuation of the inevitable water is one those compromises that has to be made, however my usage doesn’t...

    gas smell at start

Might alos want to check your oxygen sensors. There are two one in front and one behind the catalytic converter. The engine might be over mixing gas to air. Could bump your mileage up also.

    Green coolant vs. Red coolant

Thought this thread might need a bump for newbies such as myself. Surprised I never screwed it up. Besides the Red vs Green question is the official question of New Mexico - really. see ABQjournal's @VENUE: Dining

Severe Snow Symbol on an AT Tire

Thanks again for the replies. When using a Severe Snow one of the qualifications is the low temperature fiction of 110 (ASTM-1805) or greater even though the manufacturers will not tell us what it is by individual tire. I’ve read different things regarding performance on ice. Since it would...

Severe Snow Symbol on an AT Tire

Thanks for the replies. The tirerack page did not show the Severe Snow AT tires I mentioned above with the rest of the Severe Snow so I called. The person I spoke to told me they go with industry product sheets where AT takes priority over “Winter” category. They do look at tires to see if the...

Severe Snow Symbol on an AT Tire

Well another tire thread. I’ve look around and I’ve seen some references but nothing that helps me understand why some AT (all terrain) tires have the Severe Snow Snowflake-on-the-Mountain designation and others don’t. I understand all AT’s by definition are M&S rated. There seem to be a few AT’s...
