    let's talk airstreams

Airstreams are not 4 season trailers. The metal skin conducts heat and cold. I live in Arizona, in the summer sun they are almost impossible to cool. They are cool looking and the aluminum skin is better than some trailer with a flexible roof that needs replaced every 10-20 years.

    Rust On Undercarriage

What rust? If that were an East Coast car it would be considered rust free. If it is a low mile car I might consider doing something to the rust as mentioned above, if it is above 200,000 miles, just enjoy it.

LX owners, how do you answer the question 'What do you drive?

I just put Toyota badges on it. It's a Toyota Landcruiser. In the rest of the world that is how it is sold.

    When you bought your FJ40

So far on my 1981 BJ44 I've replaced : All 4 doors, fortunately I live in Arizona and I found some rust free ones. Cab Corners, rear sill Hood and front fenders, my truck had fiberglass aftermarket for all. I found new OEM Toyota, hood and fenders. Yea ! Top sides, Mine were rusted away and I...

    Need advice/help selling 1996 SR5 4Runner

Need pictures of the interior and rust. If it's a rust bucket with those miles it is not even worth much as a parts car.

New user and dead Tacoma in Richmond, VA

It's a simple math problem. What's it worth non running as is? Maybe $2000? What's it worth after spending $8000 on an engine? What can you buy another used one for? Without knowing the numbers, I would take the $7900 and sell the rest for maybe $2000 and be done with it. You never know...

New user and dead Tacoma in Richmond, VA

Go to the Better Business Bureau, they're free. Try Valvoline headquarters, stop dealing with the franchise, go up the headquarters chain, don't believe the first person you talk to unless you get a new motor. A lawyer is unlikely to take it on contingency, so you will spend more on the...

1995 Landcruiser won't start. It makes a quick clicking noise. It might be a loose wire

Before you tow it to your mechanic, change the battery cables, or at least the ugly battery clamps. You have a poor connection to the battery.

    I bought a 145K 2007 LX470 I’m disappointed and prefer my Ford Expedition

My bet is tires, it could even be the tire pressure. I have a good friend who trusted the dealer to service his vehicle. Every tire had a different pressure, some 30 pounds different. Imagine your handling if one front tire had 60 pounds and one rear had 22 pounds. That was my friends car.

$2300 Quote from Maaco....what do you guys think?

Most any paint will help prevent rust. If the rust is removed and a good base/primer the rust prevention will work better. If you do not prepare the surface, the paint till not stick and just make a nice layer to hold the moisture against the metal thereby promoting rust. The goal is to...

    Build - Buffalo Brown KSA 1984 FJ40

Those fuses are scary. New Toyota fuse panels are relatively cheap, I would put that high on the priority.

    Build - Buffalo Brown KSA 1984 FJ40

Split rims, very cool in third world countries where the closest tire shop is 500 miles away. Before you take on a restoration I would just drive it and enjoy it for a while. One cool thing is it is probably almost rust free. My BJ44 came from Japan via New Zealand, by the time I am done only...
