Wanted 1981 bj42 factory service manual

Chris, I have two! One I'm planning on selling with my truck, and the second could be yours! I had bought one from Specter Off Road in California, when the previous owner of my BJ40 said to me: "I found the manuals" and then he gave me both the Chassis manual and the 3B engine manual. I'm...

3B and B engine, thermostat housing differences

Um... I'm not sure. All I know is that I drilled the holes larger 'B' manifold and then installed it onto a 3B engine. Worked for me! YMMV Sean.

3B and B engine, thermostat housing differences

I ended up using the thermostat housing from the 3B engine and just running a hose from point A (thermostat housing) to point B (Radiator). It appears as if there is an external coolant return line on the B engine and a internal coolant reutrn line build into the water pump on the 3B engine...

3B and B engine, thermostat housing differences

[Mithila wrote:] >My waterpump in B is making a funny noise and I have >been adviced to use a 3B waterpump since B waterpumps >are vitually unavailable. It's your lucky day, if you are interested I can take the water pump off my wrecked B engine and sell 'er to you! My B engine was...

    3B head wanted...suggestions?

Used Head for Sale I have a used head from a B engine, that should work for your 3B engine. I have recently refurbished the head and ran it on my B engine only to have the bottom end of the engine die on me due to a fresh new head! I'm in Vancouver, BC and asking 500$CND. If interested, I can...

MORE Differences 10) Fan diameter is slightly larger on the 3B. Bolts for fan are also slightly larger 11) Exhaust manifold mounting studs are larger on the 3B M8-1.5(i think)

3B and B engine, thermostat housing differences

General 'B' and '3B' differences Hey Rob thanks for the engine, the transplant is going very well. One little trip to Lordco, and I should be at the stage where I can lift the engine back into the engine bay. General 'B' and '3B' differences: 1) Exhaust manifold bolts are larger diameter...

3B and B engine, thermostat housing differences

COOL thanks for the picture, this is exactly what I was looking for. It looks like the thermostat housing you have is kinda like the one I would like to use, but I'm curious about a few details... What is the red hose that goes just under the heater hose, and then drapes over your alternator...

3B and B engine, thermostat housing differences

Loren (superdude) stopped by my place of work so I got a few pictures of his engine (with the darn powersteering pump). I also was able to determine that the second heater hose is for the rear heater of the BJ60, and I think I'm just going to end up capping this off. I have a rear heater in my...

Broken down BJ40 in Medford, OR

Brendan, Um... you asked what could I have done that would have caused all this? I think that when you refurbish the top end of an engine you should also refurbish the bottom end of the engine. I fixed up the top end and this forced the bottom end to work hard. Sean.
