These didn't fit in the slots of the 8020 I ordered from TNUTZ too thick and too wide. May try to find regular carriage bolts I can make fit or just get different eye nuts.
I just got my bars today. Once I install I will take a measurement (2008) and report back. I think Thule makes a t slot conversion kit for the "claw" -- Xadapt or something like that.
Thanks to all for the good advice in this thread. I just ordered 5 rails for my 2008. I found these bolts on Amazon (they are M6) and look like they will fit into the 8020 without trimming:
These are the eye nuts:
Not sure if the eye nuts will be too small, but I really just needed...
cruzerDave is there a way to retrofit the previous generation drawers with the new slide system? Or is the sizing different? My prior generation drawers have become fairly hard to move. Thanks.
Looks awesome. Quick question - is the entire drop in unit on the above-model held in place with clips or friction so that if you were to "jam" a slightly larger cup than the smaller hole (like a medium or large Yeti Rambler or the like), the whole assembly won't come up with the cup?
I would order one as well. The prior version is useless to me because I use the medium and large Yeti cups and they jam into the "halves" and pull them out each time I lift the cups for a drink. I like the space for the phone, leatherman and pens as well. Would buy as soon as available.
Agreed. I got my inserts yesterday and large size Yeti Ramblers don't quite fit and pull up the inserts when removing. I may try the screw trick I saw earlier in this thread.
I have also noticed the buttons being pressed in pockets more often than with the stock key fob as well. It looks as if the buttons are "proud" of the new fob's surface, where they were recessed slightly on the original fob.
However, I love the design, size and durability of the new fob.
