Any hints of getting that bearing off? I tried a universal puller, but only bent the s**t out if it. Cutting was my next idea, unless anyone has a suggestion.
Thanks,

I'm looking for the top plate and forks for a H41 / H42 4 Speed Tranny. I have the stick already. Shipping would be to San Diego, 92104.

Fellow Mudheads,
Anybody running Grabber MT's from General Tire? I came across a full set on Craigslist and wonder if they are worth it. They are 33" x 12.5" R15. He's asking $300 for the set. Currently I have some AT 31x10.5's on the stock rims. I'm SUA, with OME Dakkar springs, anti...
The article in you link mentions spray-on lithium grease, I've got a can or two sitting around, I'll give it a try before I go out this weekend and report back.
Thanks for the idea.
Ed,
Since when is sense common?
Good point. But if I'm going to go in that deep, where do I stop? These are the questions that keep me up at night... so much rebuilding left so little time ;)
Thanks
Brett,
Good advice. I have a bunch of options brewing up and this was low on my list mostly due to the unknown price / shop. Now that I know I think it's a good contender.
Drew,
Another good idea, will do.
AA adapter kit came in today...
Now if only I had a day off within the next 10...
Ed,
If I can pick you brain for a sec...
I'm doing a H41 install into my 1970 FJ40 with the 3 Speed Tcase. I'm still collecting parts, but I have the H41 and the AA Tcase input gear kit is on the way. I was curious what to do about driveshafts. I know I'll need a longer front and shorter...
Did you do a full swap, or a dual fuel? I've heard you should expect 1-2 MPG worse on Propane, and a little less power, both I think can be overcome with a little advance of the dissy. I'm looking forward to hearing what you discover since I want to dual fuel sometime down the line.
Most Impressive!
Wow, I never saw the finished product! That's some nice fabricating. I'm going to take a stab at a similar layout, I'm sure by the 4th attempt I'll have something I won't be embarrassed to put on my cruiser.
Until then I need to spend a lot of quality time with the POS...
Too True
Poser,
Fair enough, that is very true. I'll take the weekend to think it over, since the future Rock Box / Toy Box is still a big question mark on the horizion.
Off the top of your head... do you remember which year range of the H41 was the 16 Spline? 1974-7/80 or 8/80-4/85 if you...
